DEADLINE: THURSDAY, MAY 7TH

Over the past 5 years, Lake Lowell Animal Rescue in Idaho has SAVED MORE THAN 600 DOGS FROM TEXAS SHELTERS (mostly Dallas-Fort Worth) that were to be euthanized due to lack of space and has given them a second chance at a wonderful life.

LET'S HELP LAKE LOWELL ANIMAL RESCUE CONTINUE TO SAVE EVEN MORE DOGS FROM TEXAS SHELTERS BY DONATING THROUGH IDAHO GIVES! Every dollar goes toward transporting dogs and puppies out of overcrowded Texas shelters and into safe, loving homes in Idaho—where they receive top-tier medical care and a true second chance and a warm bed in Idaho!

With shelters across Texas at critical capacity, the need has never been greater. WE NEED MORE HELP FROM RESCUES LIKE LAKE LOWELL ANIMAL RESCUE.

Please consider donating and supporting this incredible, life-saving work. Every dollar matters. 🐾

Two leashes. Four happy paws. Two beautiful forever homes. 🤍

Margot and Poppy didn’t just get adopted, they each found their perfect match, giving these girls the life they deserve.

From waiting for a second chance to walking confidently beside the people who chose them… this is what rescue is all about.

Adoption changes lives, not just for the pups, but for the humans who open their hearts and say yes. And there are still so many more waiting.

We believe every pup deserves a happy ending. If stories like this move you, help us create more.

Donate today to support rescues, cover medical needs, and give more dogs their own walk home 🐾 https://www.thebarkingproject.com/donate

Huge shoutout to the Dallas Police Department for rescuing 207 dogs from a local horrific fighting ring today from being fought, used as fighting bait and killed!
These sweet survivors now need the community's help, to give them a future by going to Dallas Animal Services and Adoption Center to adopt or foster. Also, please spread the word to your network as one of your contacts might be a hero for a dog at Dallas Animal Shelter.

Yesterday, the Dallas Police Department, in conjunction with the Texas Department of Public Safety, FBI Dallas Safe Streets Task Force, Dallas Animal Services, Garland Animal Services, SPCA of Texas, Operation Kindness and the ASPCA, executed search warrants at dozens of locations as part of “Operation Fight Club,” an ongoing dog fighting and animal cruelty investigation. More than 200 dogs were rescued, stolen guns were recovered, and additional evidence of dog fighting was seized. As the investigation continues, arrests for dogfighting and additional crimes will be announced.

The Dallas Police Department is grateful for the assistance of our law enforcement and non-profit partners who contributed to the success of this operation.

If you find an animal outside during extreme cold weather, DO NOT LOOK AWAY, YOUR IMMEDIATE ACTION CAN SAVE ITS LIFE. BRING THEM SOMEWHERE WARM AND/OR CALL 311.

Under the Safe Outdoor Dogs Act and local Dallas ordinances, it is illegal to leave a dog outside without adequate shelter during a weather advisory or when temperatures drop below 32°F.

If you find a stray cat you cannot get inside, build a quick shelter: Use a plastic bin or cardboard box. IMPORTANT: Line it with STRAW, NOT BLANKETS. Blankets and towels hold moisture and will freeze, actually pulling heat away from the animal.
