FRANKIE UPDATE 🥹💜

We went to Frankie’s appointment today for his Swimmers legs at Integrative Veterinary Wellness with Specialist Dr. Carn and WOW… we learned SO much.

Before we get ANY negative comments because Frankie is whining- Frankie literally screams at the top of his lungs if I walk past him and don’t pet him 🤣 He is very dramatic! That is not to say that this doesn’t hurt, but the doctor was so gentle and did not do more than Frankie could handle. He was very adamant that we start him back on his pain meds since we are doing a bit more aggressive stretching. We know this road will be long for Frankie and at times painful but we will never over work our boy or cause him excess pain!

It was honestly so refreshing to sit down with a doctor who KNOWS swimmer syndrome and understands exactly what we’re dealing with. 😭 He showed us some new stretches that we need to be doing with Frankie at least 4–5 times every single day.

Frankie does NOT approve of these new stretches and gave me the stink eye at his appointment. 😂 But his case is very severe, so we have a long road ahead of us and we are going to give this everything we’ve got.

We’re also going to start WATER THERAPY! 🏊‍♂️😅 Sooooo… we got a pool. Honestly, it was a long time coming because now we can use it for Frankie, Angelo’s paralysis rehab AND tiny Fiona. 🥹

And speaking of Fiona, Dr. Carn said she is actually doing all the movements she SHOULD be doing right now!! 🎉 We’ll be sending him videos of her progress so he can tell us when it’s time for her to come see him too.

We are SO happy we brought Frankie to IVW. Dr. Carn and his staff were truly amazing 💜 We go back in two weeks to reevaluate his progress.

For now… wish Frankie GOOD LUCK. 🥹💜 We have some work to do! Specialists are costly, so any help towards their vetting helps so much! Thanks everyone

It was honestly so refreshing to sit down with a doctor who KNOWS swimmer syndrome and understands exactly what we’re dealing with. 😭 He showed us some new stretches that we need to be doing with Frankie at least 4–5 times every single day.

Frannie this morning 😭💜 This sweet girl is doing SO good. She gets more excited to see me every day, she’s getting more comfortable with love and affection, and watching her little personality come out has been the BEST. 🥹

And a HUGE thank you to everyone who has sent toys and supplies for these babies!! It helps us more than you know and helps us keep everyone happy, clean and healthy. 🫶🏼

We could still really use one more pop-up playpen, and right now our biggest supply needs are:
Potty pads, blankets, paper towels, Clorox wipes and TRASH BAGS!! 😂 These puppies create an unbelievable amount of trash.

And don’t forget - Frankie’s appointment is at 3 PM TODAY! 💜 Please stay tuned. If the specialty center decides they need additional X-rays or testing, we will definitely need some help covering it.

📍 PLEASE NOTE: We are located in Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas. Frannie and Frankie are NOT available for adoption at this time. They still have medical care and growing to do before we even think about that! Please follow along for their updates — when they are ready for adoption, we will post it and let everyone know how to apply. 💜

Thank you guys for loving our babies. 😭💜

I swear rescue gives you the most unexpected little moments 🥹

Who knew being tuckered TF out and me standing up and crinkling a bag of treats would turn into Ember, Frankie and Norman ALL looking at the camera (Technically treat bag) at the same time 🥹😭🫶🏼

From the left Ember is doing amazing! She will be available for adoption in a couple of weeks !

Frankie is disabled and will not be adoptable for the foreseeable future until we figure out what his future holds.

Norman is still available, please find and read his story on our page before you apply! 💜🫶🏼

Foster mom is TIRED, sleep deprived and have a seriously stiff neck 😭 But these little moments make it all worth it.

Goodnight friends 💤🙏🏽

🎀 Just a sweet little lady sitting pretty
and then…🤘🏼 ABSOLUTE PSYCHO WITH A WATER HOSE. 😂💀

This girl is seriously SO much fun. She would be the BEST companion for an active couple or family who wants a dog that’s always down to run, play, be ridiculous, and then snuggle on the couch for the rest of the night 😂

Ophelia LOVES her people with her whole heart. She is sweet, affectionate, hilarious and such a joy to be around 🥺

But.. Animals just aren’t her thing. She wants to be your one and only, and has to be the only pet! She definitely needs a very responsible home with strong handlers who can appreciate how majestic she is, but also be firm and continue her training.

Someone PLEASE give this crazy little angel her family. 😭💜 She’s 3 years old and an incredible dog! We love her! She’s fully vetted and ready to find her forever 💜🫶🏼

Due to her lack of love for other pets, we prefer she stay local to DFW Texas 🙏🏽 Please share our girl so she can finally dine her family

Fiona says Physical therapy is BOOSHEIT 😑

She HATES it. But she is a trooper! Her deformity is so different from Frankie’s. His legs do the splits and go straight over his head but hers make her little feet turn backwards 😩

We will speak to the specialist tomorrow at Frankie’s appointment about Fiona and see when they want to see her as well 💜

She is a Pug- She has swimmers syndrome- We are in DFW- She is NOT adoptable right now, she will be eventually but since her situation is severe it is not going to be any time soon, so feel free to follow along for updates 🫶🏼

😂😂😂 The HEART-SHAPED P**P. She said thank you for saving me 🫶🏼

Apparently I have to tell their entire story on every post or the internet will bombard me, so HERE WE GO. 😂

For anyone new here — this is Frannie, Frankie’s (Our swimmer puppy’s) sister. Yes. SISTER. The same owners we got Frankie from just… failed to mention she existed. 🙃

Two weeks later, they listed her for sale on Craigslist and we found out about her. She had been sitting there with a staph infection, pink, irritated and uncomfortable. Thankfully, we were able to get her too. 💜

She’s now safe, on antibiotics, eating like she’s never seen food in her life, pooping approximately 47 times a day, and slowly learning that humans can actually be pretty cool.

And this morning, after everything we’ve done for her, she decided to show her appreciation. 🫶🏼

She made me a Poopoo pretzel heart… 🥹💩💜

Some puppies give their rescuers kisses and wiggle butts-
I get that AND custom f***l artwork

I’m touched 😭

10/10, Frannie. No notes. 🤣

She is a Maltese Chihuahua- We are in DFW- She is NOT adoptable right now, she will be eventually, so feel free to follow along for updates 🫶🏼

Frankie said “what do you mean you have my sister??” 🥹🤣

Frankie’s swimmers syndrome is definitely extremely advanced 😞 his poor little back legs are so straight. We do exercises every few hours and he has had them tied together the majority of the time, but sometimes we try to give him a little break.

While the distance between his legs seems to be improving, tbe bending part is not. But tomorrow is his appointment at Integrative Veterinary Wellness (Specialist) at 3Pm and we are hoping to get some answers! 😩

If you would like to help towards his care, anything is appreciated 🙏🏽🫶🏼 Wish our tiny stinky boy good luck! 💜
