Piper is a 7 year old cocker spaniel. She is spayed. Loves all people, kids, other dogs, cats.
She is potty trained to outside or a potty pad (I foster some teensy tiny dogs that can’t hold it 4 hours so she has acclimated to them if I’m not paying attention or gone a long time at work.
Good recall. Loves to carry around toys. She doesn’t destroy them. When you come home she will excitedly present you one of her favorite toys for you to look at. She will let you take it from her. No resistance at all. She will go fetch it. But her goal was to show you. It’s adorable! She wiggles her nub tail when you talk to her. She does like to chew on bones and likes Himalayan yak chews (cheese chews that are very long lasting), bully sticks, frozen Kong treats, and the trimmings from my horses hooves when the farrier comes. All are high on her list of approved treats.
She is crate trained and she does like her crate. She is a low energy dog but needs interaction and little walks to keep her happy.
The cons are she doesn’t have what is normally a separation anxiety issue but once in a blue moon she will decide to sneak off and chew something of yours when you go outside for a while or shred up the loose piece of paper. 75% of the time she will be an angel, that 25% will surprise you. She lulls you into feeling like she is a saint and bam… a little sneak move. So if you don’t like surprises you’ll just crate her when you go outside to get the mail or run to the store, or put everything away. She is small: she can’t get too much.
Also, she is a cocker spaniel. Keeping her ears clean and dry is an effort. They do get ear infections a lot.
She requires grooming but loves it. Begs for the clippers on her. It’s so strange to see a dog love it so much.
She is spayed/chipped/Utd on all vaccines/hw negative/on all preventions/dental done.
