🐈‍⬛"Cats are not small dogs"...a quote often heard during Veterinary college training. This always rang true, including my approach to respectful handling when they came to me for care.

🐈As a rehabilitation professional, I realize how many thousands of feline patients came to me in general practice, and my options were limited; they were often fearful, painful or a combination of those. Bringing rehabilitation to the home ensures fewer triggers for feline patients needing such care.

🩺Osteoarthritis is a very common condition in feline patients and is often underappreciated since many house dwelling felines are fairly sedentary.

🐱VRMOhio welcomes your feline companions as patients! We will bring rehabilitation to them in the comfort and security of their home.

📢We have an exciting announcement for VRM Ohio and huge congratulations to Dr. Traci on her newest accomplishment:

🗞️Dr. Traci has obtained her certification as a Canine Strength and Conditioning Coach. In her words:

"Attaining CSCC was a logical progression following Canine Rehabilitation certification. This coursework & training means that I have the foundation to be able to provide thoughtful guidance for patients following release from rehabilitation. The knowledge also provides the background needed for ease of collaboration with a certified fitness coach."

🐾This means she can help even more dogs and collaborate seamlessly with a certified fitness coach. This is one more phase of rehabilitation that will help your dog get back to doing what they love!

🔠Did you know that you can work on building fundamental skills with your dog BEFORE they are in a rehabilitation program?

🧱FOUNDATION WORK is the ABCs & 123s and the building blocks of rehabilitation.
🎯This helps your dog's confidence during fitness & rehabilitation exercises
🎯It helps your dog to progress to more targeted exercises in their fitness program

✅Here are a few things you can work on to get your dogs ready for their fitness or rehab program:
1️⃣Introduction to equipment - platforms, for example
2️⃣Teach foot & nose targeting and adding duration
3️⃣Chin rest and add duration
4️⃣Posture work - sitting & standing
