Post-Procedure Highlight! 🏆🐾

Fawkes 2.0’s dad shared an incredible update after his two extractions earlier this year — Fawkes went on to compete in the ESPN AKC Televised Premier Cup Showcase in Temecula, California!

He recovered amazingly well after his procedure and has been doing fantastic ever since. We’re so proud to share that he took second place in his division! 🎉🥈

Meet Your Pet's Care Team! 🩺🐾

Erica feels privileged to be working with the amazing staff at ADCOS for 9 years! She is thrilled to also be the training coordinator, offering high quality dentistry education to veterinarians and technicians all over the country! In 2024, she earned her Veterinary Technician Specialist designation in Dentistry, which has been one of the many rewarding moments in her career. 📖

Erica also owns and operates a mobile veterinary technician business, Pet 2 Vet Connection, which offers services in the home, such as diagnostic blood pressures and blood draws, creating a decreased stress environment for dogs and cats. 🚗

When Erica is not in the clinic or the classroom teaching, she enjoys playing on the Candy Vipers home team, for the Pikes Peak Roller Derby league. Quad skating is one of her many passions, along with gardening, baking and crafting and taking her Classic Mini Cooper to car shows. She is blessed with twin boys, who live in town and often takes to the mountain trails with her husband and Mini Bull Terrier named Falafel. 🛼

Fun Fact: Favorite color is Teal 🩵

Spring Mock Boards🌟

We were happy to welcome Paul Mitchell DVM, DAVDC, back this spring to lead our mock boards. He is an esteemed author, researcher, and speaker in Veterinary Dentistry.

That time of year is soon approaching when residents sit for boards to become Diplomates of the American Veterinary Dental College (DAVDC). The practical exam is the last step of their residency after 3 long years of demanding training in advanced dental procedures.

This spring, we had veterinarian residents from Denver, Fort Collins, California, Wisconsin, Tennessee, and Idaho. 🛬

Post-Procedure Highlight! 🐾💛

At Coopers consult we found what appeared to be an oral mass on his left upper fourth premolar, also known as the carnassial tooth ( #208). We were able to complete a cone-beam CT and a biopsy with histopathology. The CBCT showed signs of tooth resorption, which required some extractions. Histopathology confirmed a canine acanthomatous ameloblastoma (CAA).

CAA is an aggressive tumor that can infiltrate into the surrounding tissue and affect the bone. It can be treated surgically, but the margins need to be wide. Cooper underwent an en bloc resection, and the histopathology report showed that the CAA was completely excised. Cooper is a Trooper and doing great!💫
