🐾 **Meanwhile, during a house call…** 🐾

While their canine sibling was busy getting an acupuncture treatment, these two decided they needed a little entertainment of their own. 😹📱

Our assistant graciously provided the in-home waiting room entertainment, and apparently a cat game on her phone was a BIG hit!

One of the perks of house call veterinary care: the whole family gets to be involved…although some family members may be more interested in screen time than medical care. 😂🐱🐱

❤️ Testimonial Tuesday: Liberty

Liberty the Labrador has been one of our patients since she was a puppy back in 2015! Recently, she woke up one morning moving very slowly and limping on one leg. She was not eating with her usual enthusiasm and was clearly painful.

After evaluating her at home, Dr. Mathis diagnosed pain in her upper back/neck. Liberty received two acupuncture treatments one week apart, and her family also rented a laser to perform treatments at home each evening for a week.

Here is what Liberty’s family shared:

“Liberty is our sweet eleven year old Labrador. She woke up one morning very slow and favoring one leg. She would not eat with her regular gusto and was in a lot of pain. Dr. Mathis came and evaluated her diagnosing a pinched nerve in her neck. Dr. Mathis performed two acupuncture treatments on Liberty a week apart and we rented and performed the laser treatment each night for a week. After about three days Liberty began to perk up and after a week she was back to her energetic self! We highly recommend the acupuncture and laser, because Liberty can enjoy her evening walks and trips to Bruster’s again!”

We’re so grateful to Liberty’s family for allowing us to share her story. ❤️

🐾 **Patient of the Week: Rocky!** 🐾

Meet Rocky, an adorable orange tabby kitten and the newest member of his family’s orange-cat crew! 🧡🐱

Rocky’s mom was kind enough to share this handsome photo with us because Rocky himself was **not interested in cooperating with the paparazzi** during his visit. 📸😼 And, in his defense, his suspicions were justified—we eventually revealed our true intentions and gave him a vaccine!

Rocky is the second orange kitty to join the family, following his big brother Rusty, who came home in January. Apparently one orange cat just wasn’t enough! 🧡🧡

Thanks for tolerating us, Rocky. We promise the camera was the least suspicious part of the visit! 😂

Today we’re celebrating all the dogs who make our lives better—the goofy ones, the gentle ones, the seniors, the youngsters, the treat-obsessed ones, the couch hogs, and every personality in between. ❤️

We’re incredibly lucky to spend our days caring for so many wonderful dogs in the place they’re happiest—**home**.

🐾 **Patient of the Week: Bourbon!** 🐾

It has taken us a few years, but we finally managed to get a photo of Bourbon worthy of his **Patient of the Week** debut! 📸❤️

Bourbon is a 5-year-old Chihuahua who we’ve had the pleasure of caring for for several years. He may be little, but he has a BIG personality—and he’s an exceptionally friendly little guy who is always happy to see us! 😊

We stopped by recently for his annual wellness visit, and Bourbon was his usual sweet, charming self. With those big ears and that handsome face, we think it was definitely time he had his moment in the spotlight!

Thanks for being such a good patient, Bourbon! 🐾

🐾 Patient of the Week: Emmy!

Meet Emmy, a sweet 9-year-old Great Dane and a true gentle giant. ❤️

Emmy’s family noticed that she seemed painful when lying down, changing positions, and going down the stairs. The tricky part? Emmy wasn’t particularly interested in telling us where it hurt! Despite a thorough exam, this stoic girl kept her secrets pretty well.

Since she was clearly uncomfortable, we treated Emmy with laser acupuncture to help address pain and inflammation without asking her to sit still for needles.

And our favorite part of the visit? By the time we were packing up to leave, Emmy was stretched out on her bed resting comfortably. 🥰

Sometimes our patients can’t show us exactly what hurts, but they certainly let us know when they’re feeling better.

🐾 Patient of the Week: Onyx! 🐾

Meet Onyx, an adorable 2-year-old miniature poodle who had his annual wellness visit with us yesterday — right in the comfort of his own home! 🖤

Onyx is such a sweet, happy little guy and was an absolute gentleman for his exam, vaccines, and all the other not-so-fun parts of his visit.

He also has a very specific philosophy about treats: the peanut butter can wait until AFTER everything is finished! 😂 No distracting him with snacks while there’s business to take care of.

Once we were all done, though, he was more than happy to enjoy his well-earned reward. 🥜🐩

Great job, Onyx — you were such a good boy! ❤️

✨ Testimonial Tuesday: Zoey’s Story ✨

When 10-year-old Zoey suddenly began yelping during ordinary moments—like having her paws wiped or her head petted—her family knew something wasn’t right. She also lost interest in her food, which was completely unlike her.

After examining Zoey and identifying the areas causing discomfort, Dr. Mathis treated her with laser therapy and laser acupuncture. Her family shared:

“Afterward, Zoey rested comfortably, and by dinner time, her normal appetite had returned. She was already moving around much better, too!

We rented a laser from Dr. Mathis so we could continue daily treatments at home for a few weeks, and I am so happy to report that Zoey is now back to her old self—happily enjoying her walks, chasing rabbits, eating her food, and soaking up attention again.

We were getting ready to leave for vacation, so knowing Zoey was feeling like herself before we left was such a relief!”

🐾 Patient of the Week: Murphy! 🐾

After living in Germany for three years, this sweet family recently returned to the United States—and one of their first additions after coming home was Murphy, an adorable Doodle! ❤️

Murphy now shares his home with his big brother, Finn, whom you may remember as one of our previous Patients of the Week. We were so happy to welcome Finn’s family back and meet their newest four-legged family member!

Murphy quickly discovered that visits with Dr. Mathis come with a very important perk: peanut butter! 🥜 He was more than happy to enjoy a little snack while we helped keep him healthy.
