If I have ANY friends or clients in the south Fountain area close to either of the current fires, but particularly the new Jordan fire, please let me know if I can help in any way! I have kennels and space for dogs or small caged animals.
I am free and will be by my phone all weekend and will be on the continual lookout for evacuation notices and updates. Please stay safe and don’t wait!!

On June 17, CSPD was notified that Howard the tortoise had been stolen from a local pet store. Detectives quickly followed up on information provided by the store and were able to identify a suspect.

On Thursday, June 18, 2026, the suspect was located at a local hotel and taken into custody, but Howard was not there. Detectives continued their investigation, conducted additional interviews, and were able to determine Howard’s location.

Thankfully, Howard was safely recovered and reunited with his owner.

This is a great example of what can happen when our community partners with CSPD. Information shared by the pet store, witnesses, and the public’s involvement on social media helped detectives develop the leads needed to bring Howard home.
