WEDNESDAY WISDOM: FALL LEAVES, SPOOKY SOUNDS & CURIOUS HOUNDS!

October brings crisp air, crunchy leaves, Halloween decorations, and plenty of excitement! But while we’re enjoying the spooky season, our four-legged friends might see things a little differently!

Here’s a little wisdom: Dogs don't always understand that the spooky decorations we find entertaining are completely harmless!

That inflatable ghost waving in the yard? Suspicious.

The skeleton sitting on your neighbor’s porch? Definitely questionable.

A giant pumpkin that wasn't there yesterday? Immediate investigation required!

THE TRAINING TIP:

When your dog encounters something unfamiliar, resist the urge to force them closer. Instead, give them space, reward calm curiosity, and let them investigate at their own pace.

Building confidence through positive experiences helps your dog learn that new and unusual things aren't always something to fear!

Remember, a confident dog isn't one who's never afraid. It's one who's learning how to handle the unexpected!
