The Veterinary Entomology team at Penn State is conducting a brief survey to better understand how veterinary professionals approach client communication regarding vector-borne risks, including ticks, fleas, and vector-borne diseases such as Lyme disease and heartworm.

This effort is part of the VectorED Network, a CDC-funded vector-borne disease Training and Education Center and they are performing a needs assessment to better understand how to support the role that veterinary professionals may play in vector-borne disease education of the public. They are focusing on veterinary professionals in the Mid-Atlantic and the Ohio River Valley region.

Why participate?
• Share your expertise on vectors and vector-borne diseases
• Contribute to research that will inform veterinary resources and improve client communication tools
• Help highlight the critical role veterinarians and veterinary staff play in protecting both animal and public health

🌟 Calling All Veterinary Pros! 🐾📚
Dream job alert! 📣

SUNY Delhi is seeking a passionate and dedicated faculty member to join the Veterinary Science Technology team and help shape the next generation of veterinary professionals. In this role, you’ll teach courses within the A.A.S. and B.S. degree programs, blending classroom instruction with hands-on laboratory experiences that include live animal handling and clinical skill development across small animals, farm animals, and rodents.

Beyond teaching, you’ll play an active role in animal care for both college-owned and visiting animals, mentor and advise students, and contribute to curriculum innovation. You’ll also collaborate with colleagues on student success initiatives, enrollment efforts, and departmental and college-wide committees.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who values hands-on education, student mentorship, and meaningful contributions to a growing academic community dedicated to animal health and veterinary excellence.

If you love upstate NY, teaching, animals, and good company — this is your sign! 🙌
