After nearly three decades, a controversial dog ban has been reversed. ❤️🐾

For years, countless Pit Bulls were judged before they were ever known.

Not because of their actions.
Not because of their behavior.
But simply because of how they looked.

Now, that chapter is finally changing.

Under the new law, Pit Bulls and other previously restricted breeds can once again be legally owned, walked, and welcomed into communities. Instead of focusing on breed labels, the law shifts attention to what truly matters: responsible ownership and a dog's individual behavior.

For many families, this decision means more than a legal change.

It means giving good dogs a fair chance.

It means recognizing that loyalty, love, and character cannot be measured by a breed name.

Anyone who has shared their home with a Pit Bull already knows the truth. Behind those strong muscles and powerful appearance is often a dog that craves affection, lives for family, and would do anything to protect the people they love.

Supporters of the change say it helps end years of stigma while keeping important public safety protections in place.

And for thousands of Pit Bulls who have spent years being misunderstood, it feels like a long-overdue step toward being judged for who they are—not what they are.

Sometimes progress looks like a law being changed.

Sometimes it looks like giving a dog the chance to be seen with an open heart. ❤️

June is PTSD Awareness Month.

PTSD is not a character flaw.
It is not a lack of strength.
It is not something people can simply "get over."

For many veterans, the battle did not end when they came home.

At Green Star Families of America, we know PTSD is part of many stories. Some veterans continue to fight and heal every day. Some families walk that journey alongside them. And some families have experienced the unimaginable loss that can occur when those struggles become overwhelming.

This month, we want veterans living with PTSD to know this:
We see you.
We respect you.
And your story matters.

Talking about PTSD does not make someone weak.
Talking about it may help save a life.

If you are struggling, call or text 988 and press 1 for the Veterans Crisis Line.

The Dutch Apple II was built at Scarano Boat Building Inc, in 1986. The boat is derived from popular Hudson River Day-liners of an earlier era.
The day-liners plied the waters of the Hudson River ferrying passengers to and from ports along the way between Albany and New York City.
In designing the boat and whenever practical, Scarano utilized wood species that are both indigenous to the region and traditional for building boats. The result is a blend of classic styling and warm elegance. Enjoy a cruise down the Hudson River with food and beverages on board or rent it for private functions. We did and had a fantastic time!
