🎉 🎉🎉🎉PUPPY COURSE 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Do you have (or are you getting) a puppy? Would you like to teach them to listen well? Do you have an older puppy and would like to go back to basics to help them listen better? This course is for puppies whose humans would like to teach them the basics in an environment with controlled distractions. Your dog MUST be happy around other dogs and people.

We have TWO spaces on a course running Mondays 6.00pm - 7.00pm, starting 2nd November 🎉

Would you like to teach your puppy useful behaviours such as:

✔️Attention to name (the start of all training!)
✔️Sit (impulse control)
✔️Down (impulse control)
✔️Stay (impulse control)
✔️Coming when called (could save their lives)
✔️How to settle (if you want to take your dog to the pub/cafes)
✔️Loose lead walking (so your arm isn’t pulled out of the socket!)
✔️How to leave it (could save their lives)
✔️Controlled greetings (to teach them how to interact appropriately with dogs)
✔️Positive reward based training
✔️MAXIMUM OF 5 dogs

Plus a lot of other exercises which are useful in real life.

Please contact us for more information or to book a space.

Our adolescent dogs getting even better at impulse control 👏👏👏

Here are Elsie, Otis, Skye and Hector all mastering their stay cue and also leaving food on the floor 🐶

This months puppies, Flash, Ollie, Monty, Ned and Ozzy, all showing us how it’s done with recall.

Recall being one of the most important things we can teach our puppies as it could save their life 🐶

We teach puppies to want to come back to their humans - like everything, during adolescence this can go - but there are always ways to retrain it 🎉

If you’d like help with recall with and older dog, please let get in touch 🐶

Would you like to do something fun with your dog?

Something that they’ll enjoy, you’ll enjoy and that will tire them out around three times more than a walk?

Then come and join us on one of our scent courses 🐶 I can’t recommend sniffing and sniffing games enough - it releases so many happy hormones. Our next Scent Course runs for five consecutive Wednesday evenings 6pm - 7pm in Dawlish Warren, starting 21st October and we have TWO SPACES REMAINING. If you’d like more information, please get in touch 🐶

Let’s talk sniffing

Many of you will know how highly I rate sniffing - the more we can encourage our dogs to sniff, and play sniffy games the better.

Why is it so good?

For lots of reasons but here are a few:

-It makes our dogs feel good
-They enjoy it
-It gives them a mental workout
-Great for puppies who can’t walk far because of their joints
-Brilliant for older dogs to give them an all round workout without causing achy joints from walking too far
-Amazing for days when you don’t have long to exercise your dog
-A great focus for dogs who are reactive
-Perfect for all dogs
-Leads to a more relaxed dog
-Promotes teamwork between dog and human which in turn leads to better focus/attention/recall/loose lead walking
-Encourages your dog to be near to you rather than getting their fun from the environment.
-Accessible for ALL dogs

If you are interested in joining one of our Scent Courses to teach your dog how to search for articles (sniffer dog style) please get in touch. 121 tuition also available for dogs who are not suited to a group environment 🐶

Meet Kobi - he’s an older puppy and has done some training at home with his humans.

We went and did a 121 training session at his home, training any extra bits needed from our Foundation Course so he can join us in class for our Foundation Plus Course.

He’s also currently doing our Scent course so you might see a lot more of him in the coming weeks 🐶
