Harlow and Bo Jangles saw the wonderful Dr. Anna today for their booster vaccinations. Gulf Island Veterinary Clinic is certified as a Fear Free clinic.

Some principles include:

Gentle handling - allowing the kittens to walk out of their carrier and explore the exam room

Continuous treats – the kittens did not even react to their vaccines while they ate.

Minimal restraint –Harlow’s exam took place on the windowsill, where she was comfortable looking out the window.

Carriers – a carrier is always available at home for kittens to sleep in if they choose – not just for transportation to the vet.

Environment – a cat-only entrance and exam rooms dedicated to cats.

The are finally healthy enough for vaccinations.

Thank you, Dr. Anna, of Gulf Island Veterinary Clinic, for the fear-free handling of the kittens. Here is Cyrus, almost double the weight from when she saw him just 4 weeks ago!

I'm happy to report that there were a total of 10 testicles ready for surgery in 3-4 weeks.

Leo, our little lion, has a slightly longer coat than his siblings. He likes to sit back and watch his siblings and is often found sleeping by himself.

Now that they are over coccidia, the kittens are finally ready for their vaccinations.

Please note we are not accepting applications at this time.

Phoenix is a confident, energetic kitten who loves to play with his siblings. However, when a lap is available, he is the first to climb on. This sleek panther has a few adorable white hairs on his chest.

Solstice is a true tortie: she's confident, scrappy, athletic, perhaps a little too physical with tiny Cyrus, but he holds his own with her.

Solstice has a slightly longer coat than most of her siblings... she would be considered a medium-haired kitten.

At the other end of the weight spectrum is Flint, a whopping 1.4 kg. He distinguished himself as the largest kitten by the time the kittens were a week old.

Flint is a thinker: sitting back and watching some of the rougher games that his siblings take part in. He has a purr that goes on for days

Cyrus was born on June 9th and is already 11 weeks old. The smallest of the litter at just 890 grams, this wee kitten gave us quite a fright when he stopped eating. Many weeks of diarrhea and a diagnosis of coccidia helped to direct his treatment plan.

Please note we are not accepting adoption inquiries.

It’s day 21 since the and the were diagnosed with coccidia. Both mommas came from the same property, so it’s not surprising they have the same issues.

That meant a total of 14 needing treatment: 3 days of Baycox, followed by daily deep cleaning with Rescue and steam. After 4 fecals and just one egg, I’m feeling confident that the end is near. Both mommas have moved into different placements, and I am so grateful to Sharon, who took the into her amazing foster space.

The still have soft stools and are receiving extra probiotics to help settle their damaged digestive systems. To be on the safe side, I am still deep cleaning daily. They are a little behind on their vaccinations, which hopefully can be started in the coming week.

Please don’t inquire about adoption, as that is still many weeks away.

Brando: Adopted!

Loves mealtime and launches himself against the side of the playpen repeatedly when he hears food being prepared, while yowling at you if you’re too slow. He’s confident, a bit mischievous and loves to play. He gets along with other cats and doesn’t mind the resident dog. He is extremely vocal, like his sister, especially at feeding time or when he wants attention. He loves Churu, sleeping on a lap, laser/wand toys and chasing his own tail 😉.
