We have had a lot of kittens adopted recently. Thank you so much to the adopters of our Berry kittens, our Apple kittens and our first few Shades of Fall kittens to go home.

Here are some of the pics from some recent adopters - showing the kittens settled in SO WELL in their new homes!

If you are still looking for a kitten (or two!) for your family, WE'VE GOT YOU COVERED! It's hard to believe it - but we still have 25 kittens (of various ages) in our foster network.

For more information about our available kittens, please reach out to us: [email protected] / 236-508-2287

We will post details about upcoming Kitten Meet & Greets on our pages as well.

HAPPY MONDAY EVERYONE!

Thank you to EVERYONE who came to visit our kittens yesterday @ Foxglove's 50th party. It was A BLAST - and we met some great adopters.

Foxglove Farm & Garden are such an AMAZING community partner - we are so grateful for their support! Thanks also to Mary and Anne and Dorrie who set up and ran the Kitten Meet & Greet event yesterday - we couldn't do what we do without our amazing team of volunteers!

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!

It's Foxglove's FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY PARTY! And what better way to celebrate than with KITTENS KITTENS and more KITTENS!

Our 'Shades of Fall' litter - All are solid black kittens: Umber (DSH, M); Burgundy (DSH, M); Copper (DSH, F); Ochre (DMH, F), and Bronze (DSH, F). These cats are SO MUCH FUN and are SO well socialized. Their foster mom Mary is a KITTEN EXPERT! They would make WONDERFUL family kittens / cats.

We also will have the remaining two kittens from our Apple litter at the event - Ambrosia (DLH Grey, F), and Jazz (DLH, Black, F). These kittens were born in care at foster mom Anne's house. While their two brothers were adopted last weekend, the girls are still looking for their FURever homes!

Lastly, we will have handsome Franklin joining the fun. Also fostered with Mary, Franklin LOVES to play laser and really enjoys playing with Mary's other fostered kittens.

Come on down to join in the kitten fun at FOXGLOVE'S FIFTIETH! We will be set up in the main building from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.!

A late in the day Happy CAT-urday from all of us here at Cats of Salt Spring.

Remember - tomorrow is a BIG DAY! It's another great Kitten Meet & Greet at Elk Lake Vet Hospital in Victoria!

We will have many kittens there tomorrow, including the remaining six kittens from our SHADES OF AUTUMN litter (as previewed earlier this week). We will also have our great APPLE litter making their debut (pics included below).

The amazing sibling duo Aster (M) and Dahlia (F) will be attending. And returning from last month's event is FRANKLYN - our sweet almost 5 month old guy who is still waiting for his PURRfect family to find him.

So that's a lot of kittens, which means it's going to be A LOT OF FUN!

Hope to see you there. Elk Lake Vet Hospital, September 27th 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

We LOVE hearing updates from our adopters. Check out this great update on two of our recently adopted Berry kittens:

"Now that the dust has settled a bit, I wanted to send a follow up on the kittens. It’s hard to believe that it has officially been over 2.5 weeks since these precious little ones joined our family.

Nova (aka Blueberry) and Orion (aka Huckleberry) have settled right into their new home like they've owned the place from day one. To say our whole family is completely smitten would be the understatement.

They are an absolute riot. Whether they're tearing around the house playing games with the kids or turning into total little cuddle bugs on the couch afterward. It has been so much fun watching their unique, quirky personalities start to blossom. They have truly become the most wonderful, joyful addition to our family.

Erica, Martin, Gabriel & Isabelle"

(Thanks so much to their amazing fosters - Shelby and her family!)

It's another week and guess what we have now available for adoption? MORE GREAT BLACK KITTENS!!!!

This sibling duo came into our care, trapped together with their mom cat (Sunflower), back in early July 2026. Dahlia (F) and Aster (M) have grown up being handled and loved by people and cared for by their awesome mom cat at the same time! As we always say - the best of both worlds.

Dahlia and Aster are completing their "finishing school" time with Niki and her family. So you know that these kittens are getting LOTS of kid handling and playtime. Dahlia is still a bit shy (she's the quiet one of the pair) but she is doing very well with all of the attention! Aster is all about play! He is much more active than his sister.

These kittens have been vaccinated (FVRCP 1st and 2nd plus rabies), spayed / neutered, treated for fleas and parasites, microchipped, and screened for FIV / FeLV (negative results).

We would love to see these two adopted as a pair (because everyone knows that TWO kittens are more fun than one!), but we would consider individual placements as well. Aster and Dahlia will be attending our Kitten Meet & Greet @ Elk Lake Vet Hospital on Sunday, September 27th.

For more information about this amazing pair, or to set up an appointment to meet them, please reach out - [email protected] / 236-508-2287

The kittens CAN'T WAIT to meet you!

HAPPY CAT-URDAY from our Shades of Autumn litter: Burgundy (M), Bronze (F) & Copper (F) (the trio of domestic short haired black kittens); Crimson (F) (tuxie with the white nose); Saffron (F) (tuxie with the white chin); Ochre (F) (delicate DMH black); Umber (DSH with white chest hairs); and Amber (F) (the lone tabby in the bunch!)

Their amazing mom cat is Teresa. The final pic shows Teresa with the kittens just a few days after she came into our care. Teresa was trapped by our amazing volunteer Helen - together with her own 5 kittens on the day they were born. It was a remarkable trapping job - well done Helen!

In the days after Teresa and her babies came into the rescue (early June), we found several other 1-2 day old abandoned kittens on the property. As they were all from the same colony, we tried them with Teresa. We were thrilled that Teresa accepted first one, and then two more kittens - taking her to a total of EIGHT kittens! Hence her name Mother Cat Teresa.

When the kittens were all eating solid foods reliably, we moved them to our foster mom extraordinaire - Mary. It was quite a big gang for Mary to take on - but you know Mary: she's always up for a challenge!

These kittens are all lovely, healthy, playful, and very well-socialized. They are now all spayed / neutered, vaccinated (FVRCP 1st and 2nd plus rabies), treated for fleas and parasites, and microchipped. We are going to give Teresa some time to rest and then she too will be spayed and ready for adoption. She's a lovely gentle girl and deserves such a wonderful home!

We will be holding our next KITTEN MEET & GREET @ Elk Lake Vet Hospital in Victoria on SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 27th. These kittens - plus others - will be there for you to meet (unless they are adopted before then).

For more information about these kittens, or to make an appointment to meet them, please reach out: [email protected] / 236-508-2287

Our kittens can't wait to meet you!

Congratulations to kittens Strawberry and Tiny on landing an AWESOME home in Victoria with Emma and her family. These two kittens are not littermates - but are clearly cousins (both coming in from our north SSI black cat colony intake this summer).

Tiny came in as a very tiny member of a group of six kittens that all had to be hand fed for a number of weeks. Small but mighty, little Tiny needed a playmate once all of her 'siblings' were adopted.

Strawberry also came in with 3 other kittens - all of whom had also found their FURever homes. Strawberry now needed a playmate too!

Thanks to Shelby for taking Tiny into her home to be with Strawberry. In less than 24 hours, it was clear that these two were a great match. Strawberry is much more laid back than Tiny - but still loves to play!

We have THE BEST foster families. Niki and her family did a FABULOUS job with Tiny and her siblings. And Shelby and her family did an AMAZING job with the Berry kittens!

Still looking to adopt a kitten? We still have lots of kittens in our foster network (and also TONS of great adult cats). It's tough to keep up with promoting / posting everyone, so if you are looking for a GREAT new cat or pair of kittens - please reach out: [email protected] / 236-508-2287
