🎨🐾 VOLUNTEER GRAPHIC DESIGNER NEEDED!

Do we have any talented graphic designers in our community who would be willing to donate a little of their time to help us?

Itty Bitty Kitty Committee is looking for someone to help us design a beautiful, professional brochure for our Safe Harbour Veterinary Assistance Program.

This program helps people experiencing financial hardship access veterinary care for their pets. We'd love to create a brochure that veterinarians can hand out to clients who may need a little extra help.

We're hoping to find someone who can volunteer their design skills to create something warm, welcoming, and easy to understand.

If you have graphic design experience and would like to use your talents to help pets and the people who love them, we'd be so grateful!

🎟️ OUR OCTOBER 50/50 IS HERE — AND LOOK WHO CAME TO VISIT TODAY! ❤️

Remember Sonnet?

At the end of June, this tiny girl underwent surgery to repair her pectus excavatum — a deformity that was compressing her chest and leaving her without enough room to properly breathe, eat and grow.

Today, Sonnet is back for her spay and we almost can’t believe how big she is. 🥹

Since her surgery, she has more than doubled her weight. She’s now 2.82 kg!
With her chest repaired, Sonnet finally has room to breathe, fill her stomach, grow, play and become the cat she was always supposed to be. ❤️

This is why we fundraise.

Every raffle ticket, every donation and every person who shares our posts helps us say YES to cats like Sonnet — cats who need more than routine care and deserve the chance to get better.

🚨 CAT CARRIERS NEEDED! 🐱

We are running very low on cat carriers and could really use your help!

We are specifically looking for SMALL and MEDIUM-SIZED carriers — the smaller ones are actually our favourite because they’re perfect for kittens and easier for us to store and transport.

❤️ What we need:
• Small carriers — YES PLEASE!
• Medium carriers — YES!
• Large/extra-large carriers — No thank you — we just don’t have the space for them

Used carriers are absolutely fine as long as they are clean, secure and in good working condition.

If you have a carrier sitting in a closet, basement or garage collecting dust, we would LOVE to put it back to work helping rescue cats and kittens! 🐾

Please drop them off at Harbour Veterinary Clinic (811 Bay Street) during business hours.

Two sets of siblings, two different vibes 🐾🩷

🐞 Meet Lady Bird — our tiniest little tripod. 🐾❤️

Lady Bird came into our care when she was just 10 days old.

When she was born, the umbilical cord from one of her siblings had become wrapped tightly around her leg. Unfortunately, the injury wasn’t noticed for 10 days, and by the time she came to us, the leg was already necrotic.

Because she was so incredibly tiny, there was no rushing her into surgery. For the next eight weeks, we cared for Lady Bird and watched her grow, waiting until she was finally big and strong enough to safely undergo surgery.

When the time came, she had the remaining stump of her leg amputated — the first leg amputation we’ve ever done on a baby this young.

We were prepared for a difficult recovery.

Lady Bird apparently was not. 😂

She recovered faster than any of the adult amputees we’ve cared for. Within what felt like no time at all, she was back to being a kitten — playing, exploring and carrying on as though losing a leg was merely a minor inconvenience in her very busy schedule.

And now comes the best part: Lady Bird is ready for adoption! ❤️ She is currently at PetSmart Uptown with her brother, Lynden, waiting for her family to find her.
This year alone, we’ve paid for more than five leg amputations, at around $1,000 each. That's thousands of dollars just for amputations, before all the other surgeries, medications, food and veterinary care our cats need.

But then you look at Lady Bird — healthy, happy, completely unfazed by having three legs and ready to start the rest of her life — and you remember exactly why we keep saying yes.

This little face is Bobeta, and today she isn't feeling well. She's spending the day hospitalized, getting the care she needs.

And Bobeta is just one of the many cats we're caring for right now.

Last week alone, our veterinary bill was $11,000.

Eleven. Thousand. Dollars. In one week.

And that doesn't include food, litter, medications, supplies, foster support, and all of the other expenses that come with taking in cats and kittens who have nowhere else to go.

We keep saying yes. Yes to cats like Bobeta who aren't feeling well. Yes to the injured cat. Yes to the sick kitten. Yes to the unexpected litter that suddenly needs somewhere safe to land.

But every yes costs money.
