❤️🐾 Franny Update 🐾❤️

Sweet Franny was urgently seen by the ophthalmologist yesterday for a painful corneal ulcer. She was an absolute superstar through her exam and procedure!

To help her eye heal, Franny underwent a striate keratotomy, a procedure used for certain stubborn corneal ulcers. While it may look dramatic, these tiny superficial lines help healthy cells attach to the cornea and encourage proper healing.

Franny handled everything like a champion and is now resting comfortably while we continue her medications and monitor her recovery closely. ❤️

Unfortunately, emergencies don’t come one at a time. Along with Franny’s eye specialist visit, Pinto has a follow-up appointment this afternoon, and Dwayne is heading in urgently for X-rays today. In just two days, our veterinary bills are expected to exceed $2,000.😭

🐾💙 Happy Father’s Day to all the amazing dog dads out there! 💙🐾

Today, we want to give a special shout-out to this big guy who supports the Victoria Bulldog Society and all the bulldogs that come through our doors. He may only complain a little bit when another foster arrives, but the truth is he loves them all and never hesitates to lend a hand when they’re in need.

Whether it’s helping with the daily care, offering extra cuddles, or showing off his championship-level bulldog wrestling skills, he’s always there for our bulldogs. 🐶❤️

Thank you to all the dog dads who open their hearts, homes, and laps to these wonderful dogs. We couldn’t do what we do without you!

🚨 Urgent Eye Care Needed for Franny 🚨

Sweet Franny is heading to the ophthalmologist tomorrow for an urgent appointment after developing a painful corneal ulcer. 😭

She’s been an absolute superstar patient and has already started medications to help with pain management and healing. Tomorrow, she’ll undergo a specialized eye examination and a debridement procedure to help the ulcer heal properly and prevent further complications.

Unfortunately, urgent specialist care isn’t cheap. The emergency ophthalmology appointment alone is $390, and with the debridement procedure, we’re expecting tomorrow’s bill to be approximately $600.

Franny deserves every chance to heal comfortably, and we’re hoping our amazing community can help us cover these unexpected medical costs. 💙

Pinto is getting his new lease on life, and we are so thankful for the amazing foster homes that step up when dogs need them most. ❤️

Right now, Pinto is enjoying some time with VBS alumni Hank and Gia while settling into foster care.

We recently connected with one of Pinto’s previous owners and were able to confirm his exact date of birth. It turns out Pinto has just celebrated his 4th birthday—not his 3rd as we originally told! It’s always wonderful to learn more about a dog’s history and have accurate information to help us better support them.

Most importantly, Pinto is exactly where he needs to be. He still has a long journey ahead of him as we work through his separation anxiety and prepare him for his upcoming airway surgery, but he’s safe, loved, and will be receiving more medical care for his spine as he struggles with that limp we shared already.

We are however very excited to watch this sweet boy continue to thrive in care. ❤️

🎉🐾 A Huge Thank You to Our Amazing Foster Volunteers! 🐾🎉

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who stepped up to temporary foster for us this summer. Thanks to your kindness and generosity, all of our foster placements are covered through June and well into July! ❤️

We do have one special foster need remaining and are hoping to find the perfect match for sweet Marvel for the full month of August.

🐶 About Marvel

* Looking for a dedicated foster home for all of August
* She is super cat-friendly so a home with a cat is good
* Marvel is very particular about other dogs
* We believe she would do best with a calm, senior dog who couldn’t care less about her presence
* Due to time constraints, we are unfortunately unable to test her with multiple dogs before August
* If you have a suitable dog and are interested, we can arrange a meet-and-greet in July but would prefer a home without a dog.

🐾 Art Update! 🐾

Look at this handsome guy go! ❤️

Art recently had new X-rays taken and we’re currently waiting to hear back from the surgeon to see what they think of the images. We’re hopeful they’ll be pleased with what they’re seeing 🤞

In the meantime, Art wanted to show off just how fabulous his leg is looking. 🎉 He’s now using his surgery leg properly & regained almost all his muscle tone and we’re no longer seeing any signs of infection, which is incredible news. While he’s still on antibiotics—and may need to stay on them for a while longer—we know we’re heading in the right direction.

After everything Art has been through, especially battling this goop awful bone infection, we’re taking things one step at a time and doing everything we can to prevent any setbacks. Seeing him walking around, comfortable and happy, is exactly what we’ve been hoping for.

Keep those positive thoughts coming for our sweet boy while we wait for the surgeon’s report! 💙🐶

🎉🐾 Young Entrepreneur Spotlight! 🐾🎉

Recently, a smart, creative, and incredibly kind young entrepreneur decided to use their talents to help dogs in need for their school entrepreneur day. ❤️

Instead of raising money for themselves, they spent time creating these absolutely awesome handcrafted buttons and raised an amazing $80 for the Victoria Bulldog Society! 🐶💙

We are always inspired when young people choose to make a difference in their community. It takes a big heart to work hard on a project and then donate the proceeds to help animals in need.

💙 Look Who’s Feeling His Best Self! 💙

Yup, HaiHai is feeling good and frisky with his new lease on life! 🐾✨

His mouth is healing beautifully, and I couldn’t be more thrilled to see him moving and grooving again. This sweet senior is acting like a 4-year-old, with a little extra pep in his step, a happy dance in his routine, and a whole lot of joy in his heart. Seeing him feel this good is absolutely amazing! ❤️

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated to help HaiHai on his journey. Your support is making a real difference and helping give him the care he deserves.

We have now received confirmation that HaiHai will be seeing a cardiologist on July 21st for an echocardiogram and specialist consultation. This appointment will help determine the extent of his heart condition and whether any medications will be needed moving forward.

The estimated cost for the cardiology consult and echocardiogram is approximately $800. If you’re able to contribute toward HaiHai’s ongoing medical care, we would be incredibly grateful.
