🚨 OUR WEBSITE HAS BEEN A LITTLE BROKEN! 🤦‍♀️

If you’ve sent us a message through our website contact form or submitted a bulldog adoption application since September 25th, and haven’t heard back from us, PLEASE READ! ❤️

Unfortunately, a website app update broke some of the code behind our contact form and adoption applications. The frustrating part? Some messages and applications were still coming through, so we had no idea there was a problem! 😩

We’ve been working with our amazing IT volunteer to track down the issue and find a solution. Thankfully, we’re getting it sorted out 🤞

PLEASE KNOW WE AREN’T IGNORING YOU! ❤️🐶 If you reached out and haven’t heard back, there’s a chance your message or application never made it to us.

🙏 We’re SO sorry if you’ve been waiting for a response! We know it takes time and effort to fill out an adoption application or reach out to us, and we would never intentionally leave you hanging.

🎃🧡 PUMPKIN DONATIONS NEEDED! 🧡🎃

We’ve already had a few pumpkins donated this year, and we’re so grateful! 👏🐾

This year, we have an AMAZING volunteer who has offered to turn donated pumpkins into pumpkin purée that we can freeze and keep on hand for our bulldogs! 🥰

Pumpkin can be a great addition to our dogs’ diets, and having a supply ready in the freezer means one more helpful resource for our rescue crew! 🐶🎃

💙🐾 BIGGIE SMALLS UPDATE! 🐾💙

Our big guy Biggie Smalls has been doing absolutely AMAZING with his acupuncture appointments! 🥹💙

This boy is a total ROCKSTAR! ⭐ He settles in, sits patiently, and seems perfectly content to be a little pincushion! 🪡 Even with the electroacupuncture, Biggie has been an absolute champ. We couldn’t be prouder of how well he’s handling everything!

We’re so happy to see him doing well with his treatments and are hopeful they will continue to help improve his comfort and quality of life. 💙

We’ve also been working away at another ongoing issue since Biggie first arrived at VBS: his nose rope. Unfortunately, the inflammation has continued to be a challenge, so his veterinarian has decided it’s time to add a course of antibiotics to help get things under control. He’s continuing with his topical ointment as well, so we’re tackling this from both directions!

It’s not always the big, dramatic milestones that matter in rescue. Sometimes it’s the little wins, the cooperative vet visits, and finding treatments that help our dogs feel better. And Biggie is giving us plenty of reasons to celebrate! 🥰

Keep being your amazing self, Biggie! We’re all rooting for you! 💙🐾

We received a delivery of wet wipes, pill pockets & dog shampoo — all things we use on a DAILY basis here at Victoria Bulldog Society! 🐶🛁

When you’re caring for a house full of bulldogs, you can imagine just how quickly we go through these everyday essentials! From keeping our wrinkles clean to helping our dogs take their medications, these supplies make a HUGE difference in their daily care. 💙

🐾 THIS THANKSGIVING, 2 DOGS ARE WISHING FOR THE SAME THING… A FAMILY OF THEIR OWN 🏡

Victoria Bulldog Society is lucky to have some AMAZING foster homes, but our bulldogs aren’t meant to stay in foster care forever! They deserve to be settled into their own homes, surrounded by love, with their forever families🏡

Today, we’re putting the spotlight on MARVEL & ART! Both are incredible bulldogs looking for their perfect match, and both would love to be the KING or QUEEN of their own castle! 👑

💜 PRINCESS MARVEL 👑🐾

Marvel is a fabulous girl who loves being the princess of her palace! She’s looking for a home where she can be the only dog, but here’s the good news for cat lovers… Marvel is AMAZING with kitty cats! 🐱 She could happily share her home with one or even multiple feline friends.

She’s great on walks, very well-trained, and a pretty easy girl to care for! She takes one medication daily with her breakfast & gets eye drops a couple of times a day, which she handles like an absolute champ. 💊

🏡 Marvel needs a local home in South Vancouver Island with her own space — we’re not looking for shared condo or townhouse-style living for this girl.

💙 KING ART 🏴‍☠️🐾

Our one-eyed pirate is ready to find his forever treasure! 🏴‍☠️❤️ Art is an absolute BLAST and one of the sweetest little dudes you’ll ever meet.

Like Marvel, Art would prefer to be the only dog in his home. He takes a couple of medications with his food & needs regular medicated baths, plus occasional ointment for skin spots that pop up.

Art has several dog-walking friends he enjoys hanging out with, but he’s particular about his canine companions. He’s happy to walk alongside other dogs & socialize from a comfortable distance. 🐾

💕 FUN FACT: THESE 2 ACTUALLY LOVE EACH OTHER!

Marvel & Art enjoy playing together, but sometimes their play gets a little too intense & turns into a tiff. Finding compatible dog friends can be tricky for both of them, and honestly, they’re often happiest alone with their people.

And that’s okay! Some just want to be someone’s one & only. ❤️

🚨🥜 PEANUT BUTTER HAD A BIG SURGERY… & A BIG VET BILL! 😬

Peanut Butter went in for surgery Friday, and it turned out to be MUCH bigger than expected!

🦷 We knew he needed 2 teeth removed, but X-rays revealed many front teeth were broken below the gumline. We suspect this big boy may have been a tug-toy enthusiast, and someone played a little too rough. He’s a big dog with little teeth! SEVEN teeth were removed, and we’re so happy those painful teeth are finally gone!

🔬 Two lumps were also checked. One showed round cells, which isn’t something we like to hear. We removed the lump on his head and sent it to pathology. We’re keeping our fingers crossed it’s nothing serious! 🤞 Results should arrive in 7–10 days.

🥜 Peanut Butter may come from nuts, but he’s officially got NO NUTS LEFT! 😂 His neuter was successful, too!

🚨 Then came the scary part. When his breathing tube was removed, Peanut Butter struggled with his airway. His very long soft palate and huge tongue can cause him to lose his airway and turn blue which he sure did, it's happened a couple times now when lying on his side. Thankfully, our amazing vet team stayed with him much longer to ensure he was stable before discharge.

We thankfully have a donated oxygen kit ready in his foster home. Hopefully we never need it, but better safe than sorry! 🙏❤️

Now he gets to rest and recover!

With Jam’s recheck & boosters, Boris’s pneumonia X-ray, and medication refills for several dogs, our TOTAL vet bill was $4,499.52! 😬
