This kitty was trapped out by one of our colonies we are taking care of. It’s near 43rd Street South. I believe he is a neutered male and wayyyy to friendly to be a stray. I scanned him for a chip. And nothing registered. If you think this is your kitty, please message the page so we can get him back home.

*he’s making biscuits in the picture 🥰🥰*

PLACEMENT FOUND! Thank you!

Two of the newest kittens trapped from the Lethbridge colony. Caught at the perfect age where they have not learned feral-like behaviour. Estimated at about 4 weeks old, in 12 short weeks, they would have been at the age were they could reproduce. How sad is that to think about 😞

These sweet peas will be loved and will never have to live the life of a colony cat, and most importantly will be fixed as soon as they can be!

If you are interested in fostering these or any other kitties at the rescue, reach out to the rescue directly.

I don’t think people are getting the point of how bad the cat over population crisis is in Southern Alberta. Let me give you a little glimpse into why spaying and neutering your pets is so important.
Between April and May, we have had 40 (yes 4-0!) kittens born to 9 moms!!! Read that again!!

9 Moms who can become pregnant again within weeks of giving birth!
40 kittens who in 16 weeks could either become pregnant or reach sexual maturity and able to start reproducing!! 4 months old!

If you think that your one cat staying unfixed isn’t a problem, YOU ARE PART OF THE PROBLEM.

I am so frustrated and angry we are still dealing with these issues.

A 4 month old female cat gave birth to 7 stillborns and her 8th passed away shortly after birth. A tiny kitten carried 8 kittens in her small body and never got to care for any of them. Instead she dealt with being frightened in a new environment.

These 9 moms will be spayed and never have to worry about carrying litter after litter.

Most of these colonies started with 2 unfixed cats! There are programs out there to help you get your pets fixed! Ask for help before it becomes too much to handle.

Please consider donating to help cover costs of spay and neuters. To spay 9 female cats will cost roughly $2700. Plus the males that are waiting to be neutered!

Donations can be sent to [email protected]
*Donations over $20 can receive a tax receipt, please include your name and full address on the e-transfer*

We have an Amazon wishlist if you prefer to donate supplies that way!

Remember sweet face who was abandoned all alone for 10 hours as a newborn? Well, as you know we found a mama to take him on, but mama is exhausted so our wonderful friend from SAARA has been bottle feeding him, and he is doing amazing!!!! He’s still not out of the woods, and we don’t know if he will have any long term effects from the traumatic start to his life but at this moment he is happy, and thriving!!!!

We still have ALOT of cats and kittens coming from that colony, and still need your support!
Donations can be made by e-transfer to [email protected]

We are still collecting KMR and kitten food.

I will be organizing an online auction for June-so please join The Cat’s Sass Online Auctions so you can help support the kitties and find some awesome products!!!

Part 3: Warner kittens- getting deceased mom out of the insulation. (If you have a sensitive stomach, turn off your sound)

⚠️ Graphic Content Warning ⚠️This video contains graphic content involving a deceased mama cat. Please watch with caution.

Earlier this week, we received an emergency call about a litter of kittens trapped underneath a house with their deceased mama cat, tangled in the insulation. Tragically, mama had become stuck and suffocated, leaving her babies alone and unable to escape. There was no time to wait.
This was one of the most difficult rescues I’ve ever faced. Crawling through the dark, cramped space beneath the house while battling severe claustrophobia was terrifying, but those kittens needed help, and leaving them behind was never an option.
After a very intense rescue, all 4 kittens were safely brought out. We were incredibly fortunate to have a nursing mama cat willing to accept them as her own. Watching her comfort and care for them after everything they endured was emotional in the best possible way.
Sadly, the runt of the litter was simply too weak and didn’t survive. Rescue doesn’t always have perfect endings, and those losses never get easier to carry.
But because of this rescue, 3 little lives are now safe, warm, fed, and deeply loved. ❤️
Thank you to everyone who supports rescue work and all the kitties. Whether you foster, donate, share posts, transport, or simply cheer us on. Your support truly makes rescues like this possible.
A huge thank you to SAARA - Southern Alberta Animal Rescue and Advocacy for reaching out to us about this situation, for providing the nursing mama cat, and for helping monitor the kittens and supply extra milk supplements whenever mama needed a break. We’re so grateful for the teamwork and compassion that helped save these babies.
