We received a report of a puppy roaming the streets of Bridgetown. Our team went out to look for him and found him curled up in a corner. He was very skittish and did not trust humans, although he still wagged his little tail while trying to dodge us. After numerous attempts, we finally managed to get him safely into our care.

We noticed he had diarrhea and immediately tested him for parvo and distemper. While the parvo test was negative, heartbreakingly the distemper test came back positive.
With heavy hearts, we had to gently put this little pup to sleep.

Not every rescue has a happy ending, and sadly this little one did not stand a chance. We continue to do everything we can to help animals in need and to sterilise as many animals as possible to prevent future suffering.

Every donation helps us continue this important work.

Today we remember and honour the life of Fernanda Alfos, who for more than 30 years was the smiling and welcoming face of our hospital reception.

Fernanda will always be remembered for her kind and gentle nature, her warm smile, and her willingness to always be a team player. She touched the lives of so many staff members, clients and animals through her compassion and dedication over the years.

Rest in peace, our dear friend and colleague. 🕊️

Education, love, care, and consistency — the true ingredients behind lasting change 🐾

Our community animals are an almost daily priority. We regularly check in on pets whose owners have reached out to us, taking on the responsibility of building a strong foundation where animals can be healthy, safe, and happy.

A big part of what we do is educating pet owners about responsible pet ownership — because real, sustainable change starts at home.

Lucy and Boots are an example of this journey. From where they started to where they are now, their transformation didn’t happen overnight. It took weeks of consistent care, patience, and commitment from our team. And now, they’ve reached an important milestone — they were collected for sterilisation and vaccinations.

This is what progress looks like. Small steps, taken consistently, leading to brighter futures 💙

Today we checked in on one of our community dogs, Gentle, who we’ve taken under our wing to give him a chance at a better future.

In just under a month, he’s already showing visible signs of improvement — and nothing warms our hearts more than seeing a happier, healthier dog 💙🐶

Gentle’s journey is a reminder of the difference care, compassion, and consistency can make.
