Our hearts are so full! 💙

Peanut and Nacho, two siblings from a litter of 10 puppies, have officially found their forever homes! Joining them is beautiful Ivy, one of our Pit Bull puppies from a litter of four, who has also found her perfect family.

These precious pups were fortunate enough to be fostered by the incredible Val Hiscock and her husband, who showered them with love, care, and plenty of spoils while they waited for their forever families. Their dedication helped these puppies grow into confident, happy companions ready for their next chapter.

Once the home checks were completed, Val personally transported the puppies to their new homes and sent them off with heartfelt stories that captured their journeys and personalities so beautifully. It was a truly special touch that meant so much to everyone involved.

A huge thank you to Val and her husband for opening their hearts and home, and to the wonderful families who chose adoption and gave these pups the loving forever homes they deserve.
Peanut, Nacho, and Ivy...may your lives be filled with endless adventures, warm beds, full tummies, and all the love in the world. We couldn't be happier for you. 😁💙

Meet Penny & Paige 🥰

These beautiful girls were recently surrendered by their previous family because they felt that they could no longer take proper care of them.

Despite these changes that they've faced, they remain happy, optimistic and full of love. They are smart and usually answers first in class. 😁

They are also pretty well socialized, adores playtime and they are always up for adventure! They would do just about anything for cuddles and of course... some good treats. 😋

Penny and Paige are looking for their forever family who would cherish them forever and give them the love and security they need. 💙

Meet Olive, our cuddler-in-chief! The only little girl in her litter, Olive is the most affectionate and as special as they come! 🐾 🥹💙

With her white markings and her soft coat she is not only adorable, but also the perfect fit for your lap.

Although she hasn’t decided yet what to think of her new bear costume, she (and her siblings) are very grateful for all the donated winter jackets and warm blankets we received in the past weeks. 💙🙏🙏🙏

But what would be even better than staying warm in the kennels, if Olive would find her own forever family and can cuddle in a loving home! 🥹🏡

This Mandela Day - Saturday, 18 July 2026 - stand with the pets and families of the Cape Flats who need kindness now more than ever.

Our dream is simple: to sterilise, vaccinate and microchip 67 cats and dogs belonging to families who love their animals deeply, but who are struggling just to survive.

To make it happen, we need to raise R33 500.

For so many, a pet is their only source of comfort.

In communities where unemployment, rising food prices and crippling taxi fares make daily life so hard, these animals aren't "just pets" - they're family, companionship and unconditional love.

We meet people every day who would rather go hungry than let their pets go without. Who share their blankets on freezing nights. Who carry sick animals for kilometres because they can't afford transport. Who love wholeheartedly despite having so little.

These families don't want handouts. They simply want the chance to care responsibly for the animals who stand beside them through every hardship.

By sterilising and vaccinating these pets, we prevent future suffering, reduce unwanted litters and help families protect the companions they treasure most.

We'd love to send every sterilised pet home with something special:

🐕 A collar or leash
🥣 A new food or water bowl

𝗔 𝗟𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗛𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗻𝗱 🥹💙🐴

This afternoon, our Inspectorate Department was dispatched to assist a pony that was being used to pull a cart from Hanover Park to Kenilworth.

On arrival, our inspector found the pony in a heartbreaking condition. He was severely dehydrated, underweight, suffering from cracked hooves, and had not been fitted with proper horseshoes, leaving him in pain and discomfort.

Despite receiving a warning from Law Enforcement a week ago and being instructed to rest the pony and seek veterinary attention, the owner failed to comply.

Recognising the urgent welfare concerns, our team immediately contacted the dedicated team at Cart Horse Protection Association, and the pony was confiscated to ensure he receives the care and protection he desperately needs.

No animal should be forced to suffer through exhaustion, pain, neglect, or extreme weather conditions.

𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗰𝗸, 𝗦𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗪𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 - 𝗨𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱

This morning, our Inspectorate Department responded to a call about a cat that had been trapped in a drain in Belhar for four days.

Despite concerns being raised, no assistance had arrived, so our team immediately stepped in to help.

After a careful rescue operation, the frightened little survivor was safely brought to our hospital for a full medical assessment.

We are happy to report that he tested negative for FIV and FeLV and is now receiving the care and attention he deserves.

After everything he has been through, he is finally safe, warm, and on the road to a brighter future.

This handsome boy will soon be looking for a loving forever home.

𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝘁, 𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘆'𝘀 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗛𝗮𝘀 𝗮 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗘𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 🐈

Misty, a curious little explorer, was brought to our hospital this week after being injured in a motor vehicle accident while roaming the neighbourhood.

After a full examination and x-rays, it was discovered that she had sustained a severe fracture to her femur (thigh bone).

Our veterinary team acted quickly, and Misty underwent orthopaedic surgery to repair the fracture.

As part of her treatment, Misty was also sterilised, which will help reduce her urge to roam and keep her safer in the future.

The good news is that Misty is already making wonderful progress! She is beginning to use her injured leg and is showing us just how resilient and determined she is.

Stories like Misty's are a reminder of the importance of sterilisation. Not only does it help prevent unwanted litters, but it can also reduce roaming behaviour and the risks that come with it.
