Hay rescue friends, I'm Ruby! ❤️

Meet Ruby, an approximately one- to two-year-old Lionhead girl with a beautiful face and a heart that is slowly learning it’s safe to trust again.

Ruby’s story began when she was found abandoned outside and taken in by people who wanted to help her. Unfortunately, they didn’t understand how to properly care for rabbits, and Ruby didn’t receive the housing and care she needed. Eventually, she was placed on our owner surrender waitlist and made her way to OHRR, where she could finally get the attention and support she deserved.

When Ruby arrived at the Center, she showed signs of anxiety. An examination raised concerns that she may have experienced rough handling in her past, including being scruffed and physically thrown. She had discomfort around her right hip and back leg, as well as tension and bunching around the base of her skull. While we can’t know exactly what happened to her, we do know that Ruby has had experiences that may have made it difficult for her to feel safe around people.

The wonderful news is that Ruby has begun to trust the people around her at the Center. For a bunny who may have learned that humans aren't always safe, that trust is something truly special. With people she knows and feels comfortable around, Ruby reveals her incredibly sweet side. We suspect that once she finds her person—the one who earns her trust and makes her feel secure—she may become an especially devoted companion.

Ruby would do best in a calm, patient home where she can settle in at her own pace and never feel pressured. She needs someone who understands that trust is earned through gentleness, consistency, and respect for her boundaries. In return, that person may discover a bond unlike any other: the kind that comes from knowing a once-frightened little bunny has finally found someone she feels safe with.

Ruby has already come a long way, and she deserves a future filled with kindness, comfort, and security. Could you be the special person who helps her discover just how wonderful life can be?

Hay, I'm Oreo! ❤️

Oreo is an adorable little fuzzball with a wonderful personality and plenty of sweetness to go around.

Oreo came to OHRR through our owner surrender waitlist after her previous owner’s child developed allergies. Through no fault of her own, this fluffy girl found herself looking for a new place to call home. Now she’s ready to turn the page and find a family who will love her for the wonderful bunny she is.

Oreo is the perfect combination of playful and sweet. She has that irresistible fluffy look that makes you want to scoop her up in cuddles, but like all bunnies, she’ll appreciate being loved in ways that make her feel comfortable and safe. With her adorable fuzzball appearance and lovely personality, she’s sure to make a lasting impression!

This wonderful girl deserves a forever home where she can play, explore, relax, and be cherished as part of the family. Oreo is ready for her fresh start, and we can’t wait for her to find the people who will adore her as much as we do.

Hay friends, I'm Jude! 😊

Meet Jude, an approximately two-year-old little guy with a big heart and an incredibly sweet spirit. This handsome boy has already overcome so much in his young life, and through it all, he has remained one of the happiest, sweetest bunnies you could hope to meet.

Jude originally came into rescue after being found abandoned outside in the cold. By the time he was rescued, he had developed some health issues, including an old bite wound on his nose and upper left lip. He was treated for both Coccidia and syphilis and successfully recovered from both. Despite such a difficult beginning, Jude's journey toward a healthier, happier life was just getting started.

Jude also had some heart abnormalities that veterinarians believed could be congenital or related to his previous syphilis infection. Because of this, his neuter required extra precautions, including careful sedation, monitoring, and an echocardiogram. Thankfully, he came through with flying colors!

At a follow-up evaluation a few months later, his veterinarian found that his neurological status and heart rate were okay and did not feel additional diagnostic workup was necessary. His progress has been encouraging, and the love and care he has received in rescue have helped him along the way.

But here's what we really want you to know about Jude: despite everything he has experienced, he is the sweetest, happiest little guy. His past hasn't taken away his ability to enjoy life, and he has so much love to give. He is a wonderful reminder of just how resilient these little animals can be when someone gives them the chance they deserve.

Now Jude is ready for his next chapter! He is looking for a loving family who will appreciate what a special boy he is and continue giving him the safe, happy life he deserves. Because of his medical history, potential adopters should discuss his past care and any recommended monitoring with our team. Jude has already come so far, and we can't wait to see him find a family to love him for the rest of his days.

Hoppy Tuesday REWsday, I'm Mackenzie ❤️

Meet Mackenzie, a gorgeous Californian girl estimated to be about a year old. With her beautiful coloring and striking appearance, she's definitely a head-turner, but it's her sweet personality that will win you over.

REW bunnies have pink/red eyes, and ‘REW’ stands for ‘ruby-eyed whites’. REW bunnies are sometimes wrongly overlooked because some people think their eyes are "scary" - but these buns are beautiful, sweet, and loving - just like any rabbit! So we love to give REW bunnies the spotlight and love they deserve! 🥰

Mackenzie was rescued by volunteers after being abandoned as a stray. She was found seeking shelter under a car, trying to find a safe place to hide from the world. Thankfully, she landed at OHRR, where she could finally be safe, warm, and cared for.

Mackenzie can be a little skittish when she's meeting someone new or isn't quite sure about her surroundings. Give her some patience and a chance to get comfortable, though, and you'll see her sweet side emerge. Once she knows she's safe, Mackenzie is a lovely bunny who enjoys the attention and care of her trusted people.

At just about a year old, Mackenzie has her whole life ahead of her and is ready for a fresh start. She's looking for a home that will give her the time and patience to build trust and allow her sweet personality to shine. We think the person who earns Mackenzie's trust will discover just how special this beautiful girl truly is.
