CHA is funded solely from adoption fees, donations from the public, and our own fundraising efforts with events like our annual Dog Jog and Paws to Party. We were formed as Citizens for Humane Action in 1975 by three friends who noticed the growing number of stray dogs and cats in Central Ohio.

Our Wednesday Wish List is brought to you by Loki!

Loki is a 1-year-old mixed breed who weighs 29 lbs. He is a rambunctious guy who loves running around the play yard with both his human and doggie friends. He can be very vocal when he plays, so a meet-and-greet with potential dog siblings is recommended! Loki was surrendered to CHA when his owner could no longer care for him. His previous owner reported that he liked to chase cats, and so he’d do best in a home without cats or other small animals. Loki is a smart and loyal dog who will be a wonderful companion.

- Cardboard litter boxes (grocery store can holders, no holes)
- Hand soap
- Paper Towels (urgent)
- Dryer sheets
- Soft dog treats (urgent)
- Single-Serve wet dog food (very urgent)

Athena was abandoned at our shelter so her history is unknown. What we do know is that she can be a little reserved at first with unknown people but she warms up to be a very nice girl. At around 2 years of age, she acts like a puppy with high energy. An ideal home for her would be one with mature children due to her energy levels, and one who is invested in giving her the structure and training she needs to be a well-adjusted, well-behaved dog. She is very smart and adorable. Meet this lovely dog today!
