Paddington and Winnie are an amazing bonded pair! They spent several weeks in a loving foster home where they grew accustomed to interacting with kids and a dog.
Yesterday they acted as ambassadors for us at where they got to meet so many wonderful humans and curious pups!
Let’s work together and find this confident kitten duo (~3 months old) their forever home! Please share and reach out to all of your kitty loving friends. We open daily at 11 am. We are closed the first and third Thursday of each month.

We have a full house in our Leukemia Room! ✨ Meet the tenants:

Socks: black & white DSH, ~3 yo
Po: (smaller) black & white, ~3 yo
Bridget: tortie DSH, ~2 yo
Nyla: gray DSH, ~11 mo
Octavia: black DSH, ~8 mo

The Cat Welfare Association proudly adopts out Leukemia positive kitties as permanent fosters, meaning YOU give them their forever home and WE cover all (approved) medical bills and expenses that may arise due to their Leukemia positive status.

Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) is an incurable viral infection that compromises the immune system. Cats with FeLV cannot live with FeLV negative cats as the virus is contagious, however they can, and would thrive, housed with another Leuk+ kitty. These cats can live happy, comfortable lives indoors for years if properly medically managed.

If you are interested in meeting any of our wonderful Leukemia positive cats and learning more, feel free to stop in any day 11-3:30p or 11-7p Wednesdays 🐈‍⬛

Meet Ed 🐈✨
Ed (orange tiger with white, ~13 yo) was adopted as a kitten in 2013. He was returned to us last year amidst his human’s breakup and was unfortunately caught in the crossfires. When Ed came back to us last year he was devastated and completely shut down. He wanted nothing to do with humans or other cats and was incredibly hurt and fearful.
It has taken him some time to regain confidence, but now he shows staff his true personality. He is just a cute, silly, grumpy old man who knows what he wants. He has boundaries and will communicate them clearly, so it’s important to respect them. He will accept pets, but not too many. He likes sitting on top of laundry and clean mop heads, and one of his greatest joys in life is drinking from the faucet. He also loves being outside, so a catio would be a dream come true for him. Ed’s most distinguishable characteristic is his raspy scream-meow. If you like a chatty cat, Ed will talk to you all day 🧡
Ed does not like dogs and would prefer being an only cat, or housed with another calm senior cat he could coexist with. If you are interested in meeting Ed you can stop by the shelter any day. We are open everyday 11-3:30p and Wednesdays 11-7p.

Olivia (gray tabby DSH, ~7 yo) was dumped at Cat Welfare last March. Being abandoned was very hard on Olivia and she is still learning how to trust again. She gets overstimulated very easily and struggles greatly to express her love. Once you gain her trust though, she will sit on your lap, accept pets, and bury her face in your arm. She is also a chatty girl and likes to talk 🩶
Olivia’s person will ideally have strong knowledge of cat behavior and will be able to give her a lot of patience and grace. She is a silly girl at heart and loves catnip pillows, kickers, and she loves watching squirrels from her window! Olivia would do best as an only cat 🐾
Olivia resides at our new building; if you are interested in meeting Olivia and learning more you can call the shelter (614-268-6096) or email [email protected] to schedule an appointment. You can submit an adoption application here: https://catwelfareassoc.org/adoption-form 🐱

This is Dale 🖤🤍
Dale Scott Jr. (black and white DSH, ~2 yo) is an affectionate boy full of energy and ready to bring joy to your family! Dale is looking for a family in a house to run around in. He loves to be involved and does not like to be confined and will let you know he is displeased with his yowls. He loves playing, looking at birds, and cuddling. He loves attention and will pet you back with his whole body 😌 Dale would thrive with a family with children and maybe a dog.

Dale resides at our new building; if you are interested in meeting Dale and learning more you can call the shelter (614-268-6096) or email [email protected] to schedule an appointment. You can submit an adoption application here: https://catwelfareassoc.org/adoption-form 🐱

Join us for our 20th Annual Cat Caper 5k!

In 2026, we are excited to celebrate the 20th Annual Cat Caper 5K, marking two decades of this beloved community race in support of homeless and vulnerable felines. The Cat Welfare Association, founded in 1945, is a local nonprofit dedicated to cherishing, nurturing, and providing veterinary care for homeless, abused, injured, and abandoned cats and kittens. Our mission is to place each cat in a safe, loving home whenever possible, while ensuring lifelong care and comfort for those who remain at our shelter. This milestone race will take place on September 13th, 2026 at the Westerville Sports Complex and will raise critical awareness and funds to support food, medical care, and safe housing for our cats, as well as our community adoption and spay/neuter assistance programs. The 20th anniversary Cat Caper 5K promises to be a celebratory, high-visibility event for participants, supporters, and sponsors alike.
