It is that time of year again!
So many of you may start seeing these spots on your pets, especially your dogs bellies. It is not ringworm and it is not tick bites even though many people are worried they look like a classic tick bulls eye pattern associated with Lyme disease. These are bites caused by black flies or no see-ums as they are some times called. They are usually non irritating and will clear up on their own in a few days. And one fun fact, dogs do not develop the bulls eye rash associated with Lyme disease like humans do!

Mud season, shedding season… welcome to spring! 🌸🐾

Did you know your dog’s coat actually “blows out” this time of year? That means all that thick winter fur is ready to come out—and if it’s not brushed regularly, it can lead to matting and skin irritation.

A few quick spring tips:🌼 Brush more often (even short-haired pups!)🌼 Keep paws clean and dry after muddy walks🌼 Don’t skip grooming—regular maintenance keeps your dog comfortable and healthy

Your pup might not love the mud baths, but they’ll definitely love feeling fresh and itch-free! 😉

Sometimes as a groomer it’s the little things that make a big difference and remind us why we love what we do.
sawyer pictured below is always afraid to get groomed; she hides on the opposite side of the car, her mom has to walk to up the room and she shakes and cowers the whole time. This last time Sawyer came she got out of the car right away and walked with me to the groom room without even looking back at her mom. She even jumped on the table and gave me her paw (I’m not sure that was for a nail trim) an there was minimal shaking. She is one of the sweetest hairballs I know!!d
