❤️ The 9/11 Memorial at the World Trade Center in NYC is a place I recommend everyone to visit at least once in their lifetime. 7 years ago I had the opportunity to go before I ever knew I’d be working in the pet industry. Visiting as simply an animal/dog lover, the last part of the tour dedicated to the K9’s and search and rescue dogs absolutely broke me. Today, as a pet professional it still brings tears to my eyes but it also makes me so proud that these sweet beings are being recognized and honored for the work and dedication they provided on that harrowing day, and days to follow.
Dogs are more than animals. They are loyal, fierce, brave, and respectful companions that deserve more love than this world could ever give them. Today I pay my respects to and remember not only the first responders, civilians, families, and city affected by the atrocities at Ground Zero, but the beautiful and brave dogs too. 🇺🇸 🐶
