Second Chance Rabbit Education and Rescue

Edit: we are so thankful! We have found our fosters for these rabbits, however we always need more fosters that can be ready in the background incase something happens. If you are interested still apply!

We are needing a foster asap for at least one of these rabbits.

The mini rex /brown is a male
The black Havana is a girl. She is to be emergency spayed tomorrow due to suspecting a pregnancy.

So far they have shown to be kind inquisitive rabbits. They will come with a full foster package for care and taller pens than shown here.

Application is in the comments and our link tree.

We are so happy to announce Onyx has been adopted!

He came to us skin and bones and in a month we have a whole new rabbit who is a perfect body score and ready to be the best boy for Hannah!

We had a call today that a rabbit had escaped his home and his family had been trying to catch him for 2 days to no avail.

They called animal control for help, and they recommended she call us since we have a catch team specifically for rabbits at large.

We were able to get permission from all of the property owners to go in their yards to search for this rabbit. By the fourth house, we found him in a hydrangea bush. We wrapped a pen around the bush and then proceeded to catch him. All in all, it took us about five minutes after finding him, and probably thirty minutes of looking through yards. He had some stickers in his coat but after snipping them out he was all set.

Our favorite part of this is that his owner was looking for him, wanted help was happy to take the education we had to offer. Now this rabbit is going to be going forward with a more educated family, better health care and a snazzy pen indoors.

We love our community and being able to help a family that needs us is always such a gift.

Today we had the privilege of visiting and teaching students enrolled in the WSU Vet Tech program. Our personal rabbits along with Petal from the rescue came in to help give hands on training, allowing our volunteers the chance to show how we s*x, hold and care for these delicate animals.

Our bunnies were well taken care of as they did a general wellness exam, took syringes of water and championed through sub Q fluids.

When we started this rescue one of our main objectives and values were, and continue to be, educating the public about proper rabbit care. Our veterinary community is a great partner when it comes to that.

Thank you so much Amanda and Dr. Ocampo for giving us this opportunity. We look forward to working with you both in the future.

Poor petal is struggling to find applicants. Shes nervous but putting her best paw forward with offering drive by boops to her foster mom.

She will be spayed here soon and ready to go. Its always nice to have an adopter lined up for them though and petal has not gotten her spot light in the way we had hoped.

She is fun and goofy, she likes to play and hang out in her cardboard kingdom. She loves a good snackie and is not a fan of oxbow. Mauzuri and science select are her go to.

Shes a dwarf mix and searching for a human that will love her and appreciate her goofy, slightly timid, but willing to open up self.

Will you be her future best friend?

We are proud to say with regular feeding Onyx has gained his weight back and in 2 weeks he has his exit appt with our vet to be cleared to go home with his adopter!

We had a surprising amount of applications for him that were all stellar so we have an adoption wait list now. Hopefully once we get Onyx to his new pad we are able to bring in another but and get them fixed up and ready to go to their forever homes!

Petal is still available once she is spayed! check out her listing in the comments!

Onyx goes to war with his cardboard house on the daily. Perhaps he is embodying a tornado since he lives in kansas. Alas hes a rabbit and cannot speak so we will never know.

He is getting along well in his weight gain. It is beyond saddening his previous owners were just not feeding him but we are glad to know it seems none of his weight loss was from underlying conditions.

Please do not buy rabbits for people who cannot take care of them, because they will not take care of them.
