Fighters For Frenchies Foundation

Fighters For Frenchies Foundation We are a non-profit organization based out of Kansas that works to rehabilitate and advocate for French Bulldogs and other brachycephalic breeds.

We also assist special needs dogs. https://www.fightersforfrenchies.com Our organization was officially founded in 2025, but we have over 10 years of rescue experience. Our primary focus is French Bulldogs and other brachycephalic breeds, but we also take in special needs animals when we have space. We currently take in owner/breeder surrenders and hope to help shelter dogs in the near future. We

specialize in taking dogs with IVDD and various medical conditions. We're currently located in Wichita, KS and place dogs in foster homes until they are adoption ready. It is our hope to one day bring awareness on these breeds and education to the Wichita area, which is overrun with unethical, backyard breeders.

We know we haven’t been very active on social media this month, and we wanted to take a moment to explain why and ask for a little patience and understanding from our rescue family.

Last week, my family unexpectedly lost my grandfather after a recent cancer diagnosis. His passing has completely shaken our family, and we are taking some time to grieve and navigate a world without such an incredible man.

My grandfather was one of the biggest supporters of all of us and was there for so many of life’s firsts, including the very beginning of Fighters For Frenchies and our very first rescue event. ❤️

My passion for animals comes from my family and the love, compassion, and kindness they have always shown toward dogs. My grandfather was a huge part of that foundation and always loved seeing new dogs we took in. His support meant more to me than I can put into words.

He leaves behind a beautiful legacy, his unwavering love for his family, his love of golf, countless memories, and most importantly, his beloved adopted dog, Jack. Jack was by his side for more than 10 years after he was adopted from KHS and was such a loyal and cherished companion. 🐾

Right now, we are simply taking the time we need to grieve, be with our family, and process this tremendous loss. The rescue is still very much in our hearts, but some things have had to take a backseat while we take care of ourselves and each other.

We appreciate everyone who continues to support Fighters For Frenchies, even during the quiet moments. Please know that the lack of posts does not mean we have forgotten about our rescue family or our dogs. We just need a little time.

Thank you for your patience, your understanding, and for giving us the space to grieve an amazing man who meant the world to us.

Until we can find our way forward again, we’ll be holding our memories close and carrying his love with us.

Rest peacefully, Papa. You will forever be a part of everything we do. 💙🕊️

🐾 Hallie Needs a Long-Term Foster! 🐾

Sweet Hallie is looking for a long-term foster or foster-to-adopt home for the next 3–4 months while she finishes her heartworm journey. ❤️

She needs a calm, quiet home where she can relax and recover without a lot of excitement or strenuous activity.

The good news? She no longer needs continued crate rest! 🎉 She simply needs to remain calm for the next few months while her body finishes recovering.

Once this period is over, we will have another heartworm test done to make sure Hallie is completely clear and ready for the next chapter of her life. 🩷

8️⃣ years old
🌻 Wichita, KS
🐾 Dog friendly
🐱 Most likely NOT cat friendly
🏡 Long-term foster or foster-to-adopt needed
💤 Calm, quiet home needed

Hallie has been through enough. She deserves a safe place to decompress, heal, and be spoiled while she waits for her forever home.

🏡 If you can open your home to Hallie for the next few months, please reach out to Fighters For Frenchies or apply on our website. ⬇️⬇️⬇️

💛 Adopt Ollie 💛

Ollie is a 6-year-old French bulldog who is still patiently waiting for the one thing he wants most in the world… his forever mama.

Now, Ollie is what we lovingly call “selectively social with very strong opinions.” He lives with occasional skin allergies (a very common Frenchie challenge), but his real quirks are all about his boundaries and comfort zone.

Ollie is:
🚫 Not a fan of children
🚫 Not comfortable with men
🚫 Very dog selective (he’s happiest as an only dog, though he may be able to coexist with the right calm female companion)
😺 Surprisingly cat friendly after a few “feline life lessons”

Because of this, his dream home is very specific: a calm, adult-only home with no dogs, ideally with a woman who wants a devoted shadow, couch buddy, and best friend.

We know that sounds like a unicorn home. But Ollie is proof that sometimes the right match exists exactly as you need it to.

In the right environment, Ollie transforms. He is affectionate, deeply loyal, and absolutely thrives when he can finally relax and just be someone’s dog. He wants nothing more than to follow you from room to room, curl up beside you, and never feel like he has to compete for attention again.

Right now, Ollie is struggling in his foster environment with multiple dogs, crate rotation, and constant stress. It’s not where he can shine—or where he can heal into the happiest version of himself.

He doesn’t need a big world. He just needs one person. His person.

Are you Ollie’s forever mom? That’s all this boy really wants. 💛

🏡 If you think your home is the right fit for Ollie, applications can be found on our website! ⬇️⬇️

📣 Looking to add a little chaos into your life? Adopt Vito!

We absolutely adore Vito, but we don’t lie about our dogs and Vito is a challenge! He not only has IVDD and is paralyzed, he also has severe anxiety/Pica and needs to remain medicated. He currently takes trazodone, fluoxetine and gabapentin daily, but still requires extensive supervision when out. He will eat anything that touches the ground, including but not limited too; socks, paper towels, shoes, diapers, clothes, pillows, blankets and basically anything that is not supposed to enter his body. He is diapered when out, but does not need his bladder expressed. If he’s left alone too long, he will eat his own diaper just because. It’s best he is kenneled with nothing on if you can’t have eyes on him.

We know this sounds like a lot, and it is. But he CAN be super sweet when he’s not terrorizing his entire house. He loves to snuggle and get belly rubs, he also plays with his friends when he is in a good mood. His scream? Will send you over the edge, but he just wants to be by your side 24/7. Deep down Vito is a good boy and deserves love, he was abused and neglected by his previous owner and when he became paralyzed they wanted nothing to do with him and left him outside alone, they also still attempted to breed him.

‼️Dog selective
✔️Cat/Kid friendly (better with older children who won’t have toys left out for him to destroy)
♿️IVDD/Paralzyed but has wheels
‼️Can only play with super tough chew toys, he will eat ropes, soft toys, plastic etc
‼️Requires extra supervision and must be kenneled when nobody is home with him
✔️Snuggle bug and certified clinger
‼️Must be fed separately from other animals
🌻Located in Wichita, KS

💙 ADOPT AUGUS THE BULLDOG 💙

Some dogs come into rescue with a straightforward story. Augus wasn’t one of them.

This special boy came to us as a breeder surrender when he was only about six months old. At the time, we were told his only medical issue was a cherry eye that his previous owners couldn’t be bothered to fix. Cherry eye surgery is a relatively simple procedure, so taking him in seemed like an easy decision.

It didn’t take long for us to realize there was much more to Augus’s story.

We quickly noticed his quirky walk and discovered he was fully incontinent. Further testing revealed that Augus has both hip dysplasia and spina bifida. While his medical needs were far more extensive than we had anticipated, we are incredibly grateful he found his way into rescue and not into the wrong hands.

Despite his diagnoses, he is completely mobile, full of personality, and one of the happiest, sweetest bulldogs you’ll ever meet. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and animals, and while we can’t promise he’s overflowing with brain cells, he more than makes up for it with love, affection, and endless smiles.

Augus wears diapers throughout the day and requires regular cleaning and diaper changes. The good news is that he does not require bladder expression. He also takes several supplements to support his urinary health, help prevent bladder infections, and maintain his gut, joint, and hip health.

Because of his condition, we take precautions to limit excessive jumping and stair use to help protect his mobility long-term.

We’ll be honest—Augus is not a low-maintenance dog. He requires a family willing to commit to his daily care routine and understand his special needs. But with a little extra effort, he lives a happy, active, and incredibly normal life.

What Augus needs most is a breed-experienced family that sees beyond his medical conditions and recognizes the amazing dog underneath. A family that understands that special needs dogs are still deserving of adventure, love, and a place to call home.

If you’re looking for a bulldog with a huge heart, a goofy personality, and endless love to give, Augus might just be your perfect match.

💕 Adopt Izzy: Our IVDD Warrior 💕

This brave little girl is ready to find her forever family! Izzy is 4 years old, located in Wichita, KS, and has IVDD, but don’t let that diagnosis fool you. Izzy is an absolute fighter.

At one point, Izzy was completely paralyzed. Through determination, therapy, and lots of love, she regained her mobility and continues to thrive. She is mobile and doing amazing, but she will still need continued precautions and an experienced home familiar with IVDD care. She is currently on supplements for her spine, joints and UTI prevention.

Izzy has about 80% bladder control. She can wear diapers when needed and also enjoys diaper-free time throughout the day. She’s adapted beautifully and doesn’t let anything slow her down. She tries her best to make it outside but sometimes has trouble holding it.

One thing about Izzy? She is definitely NOT an outdoorsy girl. She will happily go outside to do her business, then immediately waits at the door to come back inside to the air conditioning and her humans. This girl lives for comfort, cuddles, and being close to her people.

Izzy is very clingy in the sweetest way and loves attention. She is dog friendly, but would do best in a home without cats. Because of how fragile her spine is, we will not adopt her to a home with younger children. She is still older kid friendly!

Because of her IVDD, her future family will need to continue taking precautions to protect her spine and keep her safe long term. We are looking for a committed, experienced home that understands her needs and will continue giving her the care she deserves.

Izzy has already fought so hard for her second chance, now she just needs the perfect family to love her forever. ❤️

🐶 Adopt Augus The High Maintenance Bulldog! 🐶

Gus is a 2-year-old English Bulldog who may have some extra needs, but he makes up for them with love, sweetness, and joy.

✨ Personality & Temperament:
•Incredibly sweet and affectionate
•Everything friendly (dogs, people, kids, you name it!)
•Gentle, loving, and happy just being near his people

🦴 Special Needs: Augus was born with spina bifida and also has hip dysplasia. Because of this-
•He is incontinent and happily wears diapers
•He takes multiple supplements to support joint and overall health
•He should avoid large sets of stairs and have minimal jumping
•He benefits from a home that’s mindful of mobility and safety

🛁 Weekly Care:
•Regular bathing is important for his comfort and skin health
•Needs some help keeping his adorable bulldog wrinkles clean
•Diaper changes and basic hygiene are part of his routine

🌻Located in Wichita, KS

Medical Info: Understanding Augus’ Conditions

Spina bifida is a congenital condition where the spine doesn’t fully form, which can affect nerve function and bladder control. Augus doesn’t currently experience pain from this condition, but it does make him incontinent.

Hip dysplasia affects the hip joints and can impact mobility over time. With supplements, proper weight management, and limited strain on his joints, Augus does very well and remains comfortable.

We also learned at his most recent appointment he has flank alopecia, this causes no harm to him and is mild hair loss.

🐾 Is He a Lot of Work? Yes. Is He Worth It? 100%. Augus will require an adopter who understands that special needs dogs take extra time, patience, and commitment. But in return, you get a dog whose love is unmatched. He doesn’t know he’s different, he just knows he wants to be loved.

🚨 Donations Needed! 🚨

We’ve got upcoming appointments and need to raise some funds! First up we have Canyon who’s unfortunately suffering from another allergy flare up, which we thought we had under control. We would like to try the new allergy medicine for her and see if it gives us better results. We also have Augus the bulldog scheduled tomorrow for a new bald spot he has. 🤦🏻‍♀️

‼️On top of this we our low on food, diapers, wipes and supplies. We also need to order everyone’s flea/tick/heartworm preventative and this is costly. Prevention for all of the animals in our care can cost roughly anywhere from $300-500 that we do not currently have.

💙 $5 Friday 💙

It’s that time again! If everyone who sees this post donated just $5, it would make a huge difference for the dogs in our care.

We have several upcoming veterinary appointments and monthly expenses that are quickly adding up, and every dollar helps us continue saying “yes” to the Frenchies who need us most.

Our sweet Hallie also traveled to Topeka on Tuesday and Wednesday for her heartworm treatment injections. She now has 30 days of strict crate rest, followed by 3–4 months of keeping her activity very limited before she can be retested. We’re hopeful she’ll be heartworm-free and ready for adoption after that!

In the meantime, Hallie desperately needs a quiet foster home for the next few months—or even better, a foster-to-adopt home that can help her through the rest of her recovery. She deserves a calm, loving place to heal while she waits for her fresh start.

If you’re able to donate just $5, share this post, or are interested in fostering Hallie, we’d be so grateful. Your support truly keeps this rescue going.

Thank you for always standing behind Fighters For Frenchies. ❤️🐾

🥦🥕Biscotti Our Veggie Lover 🥕🥦

Biscotti may be one of the most medically complex dogs we’ve ever taken in, but she doesn’t let that stop her from enjoying the simple things in life… especially her veggies!🌱

Watching her happily munch away is a reminder that joy can be found in the smallest moments. Every tail wag, every crunchy bite, and every good day is something worth celebrating.

Keep enjoying those healthy snacks, sweet girl. We love seeing you so happy.
