We know we haven’t been very active on social media this month, and we wanted to take a moment to explain why and ask for a little patience and understanding from our rescue family.
Last week, my family unexpectedly lost my grandfather after a recent cancer diagnosis. His passing has completely shaken our family, and we are taking some time to grieve and navigate a world without such an incredible man.
My grandfather was one of the biggest supporters of all of us and was there for so many of life’s firsts, including the very beginning of Fighters For Frenchies and our very first rescue event. ❤️
My passion for animals comes from my family and the love, compassion, and kindness they have always shown toward dogs. My grandfather was a huge part of that foundation and always loved seeing new dogs we took in. His support meant more to me than I can put into words.
He leaves behind a beautiful legacy, his unwavering love for his family, his love of golf, countless memories, and most importantly, his beloved adopted dog, Jack. Jack was by his side for more than 10 years after he was adopted from KHS and was such a loyal and cherished companion. 🐾
Right now, we are simply taking the time we need to grieve, be with our family, and process this tremendous loss. The rescue is still very much in our hearts, but some things have had to take a backseat while we take care of ourselves and each other.
We appreciate everyone who continues to support Fighters For Frenchies, even during the quiet moments. Please know that the lack of posts does not mean we have forgotten about our rescue family or our dogs. We just need a little time.
Thank you for your patience, your understanding, and for giving us the space to grieve an amazing man who meant the world to us.
Until we can find our way forward again, we’ll be holding our memories close and carrying his love with us.
Rest peacefully, Papa. You will forever be a part of everything we do. 💙🕊️
