BIrdlovers Halloween Bird.
🧛This spooky season, meet the Dracula Parrot (Psittrichas fulgidus). Also known as the Vulturine Parrot, this bird is easily recognizable thanks to its featherless vulture-like face and its gothic color combination of black and red feathers. Unlike vultures—or vampires—this species’ diet consists primarily of figs. But like in vultures, scientists think the bare skin on Dracula Parrots’ faces might be an adaptation to prevent bits from sticking to their feathers when diving into a meal. This species lives in the forests of Papua New Guinea.
