Compassion Without Borders was founded in 2001 by Christi and Moncho Camblor . The focus of our organization is to alleviate the suffering of unwanted companion animals in Mexico and other low resource regions in the US through a multifaceted approach which includes international rescue efforts, extensive spay/neuter campaigns, humane euthanasia and humane education. Our board is made up of veteri

narians and professional animal advocates with decades of experience from around the country. We are staffed by nearly 100% volunteer labor – which means 100% of all donations can go directly toward our work!

Felix’s story could have ended very differently. 💔

After being dragged behind a car, this young pup suffered extensive injuries across his entire body and barely survived. He was transferred into our care from the Central Valley and spent months receiving intensive medical treatment, daily wound care, and around-the-clock support.

Today, Felix is safe, healthy, deeply loved, and thriving in a loving home. ❤️

Despite experiencing a horrific event and facing dire circumstances, Felix has spent most of his life knowing only love and safety. This is what we hope for every animal.

Many of you have been following this sweet girl's story. In just two weeks she'll be arriving in California where we will continue her care before she finds her perfect family.

Lita was found in a pile of trash: starving, hairless, suffering from severe mange, emotionally shut down, and unable to walk. ❤️‍🩹 Today, she is doing so much better, but she will require ongoing care and an amputation for her injured leg.

We love our patients! ❤️‍🩹 We love our community!

Access to care saves lives and keeps families together. We are so grateful to be able to provide monthly low-cost veterinary wellness clinics to our Santa Rosa Community. This month we saw many returning patients visiting as well as plenty of new faces.

One dog and family in particular touched our hearts. ❤️ Chikis, a sweet terrier mix, was recently rescued by her new family after being attacked by other dogs in the Fresno area. She had wounds on her body and scalp that the family was able to tend to immediately. They did a GREAT job getting her care started and, thanks to a longtime client of ours, brought her to our clinic for evaluation. Her wounds are healing nicely and we provided vaccinations, preventative flea and tick medication, and got her scheduled to be spayed.

Another client brought in two kittens from a litter she found sickly underneath a nearby house. She didn't know much about how to care for kittens, but she knew they were in need of medical attention. She waited in line for hours to get these sweet kittens the care they needed. This is what compassion looks like! ❤️

We are in awe of the love these families share not only with their pets, but with homeless animals who have no one else to turn to. Thank you Petco Love for generously providing free, core vaccinations at all of our access to care events.

This girl is a miracle, but her journey is only beginning.

Remember Lita? She was found in a pile of trash: starving, hairless, suffering from severe mange, emotionally shut down, and unable to walk.

We rescued her and immediately began treatment, nourishment, and lots of love. Today, Lita greets us with trust and tail wags ❤️‍🩹 But she still has a long road ahead. She will require ongoing medical care and an amputation as part of her recovery.

From shut down to full of life! ☀️

Remember Ringo, this handsome 1-year-old husky cattle dog mix we brought into our care after our incredible partners Fresno Humane Animal Services, rescued him? When he arrived at our shelter, he was covered in mange, mostly hairless, and totally shut down.

Today, his coat has grown back in and it's a stunning auburn color. He is incredibly affectionate, smart, and friendly. He loves playing with other dogs, connecting with his people, and enjoying the great outdoors.

Ringo regularly goes on weekly Out & Abouts, plays nicely with his dog friends, and enjoys an occasional run up Taylor Mountain. ⛰️ He will make an A+ adventure buddy.
