They are so happy and thriving. Toyota I can’t believe you tried to die just a few days ago. Your adoptive sisters are thriving now too!!! Everyone is gaining weight, playful, poops are better. Yay!

Toyota is doing great! So are his adoptive sisters. I haven’t named them yet but we are going car themed. The grey girl is still mad at me for her tiny metronidazole dose. I’m treating them for Giardia and it’s working wonders.

Baby sitting a little neonate for a couple days. She has terrible urine scalding so I’m trying to help that heal. She hates being stimulated to go potty.

Hi I’m Toyota and I tried to die yesterday! But these crazy people brought me back and now I’m thriving!

Toyota medically crashed this morning. 💔

Krystal Krystal Everett is taking care of him while I’m out of town on a family vacation. He was doing completely fine, and then this morning she walked in to find him covered in his own vomit and diarrhea and clearly not doing well.

She immediately jumped into action, starting all of the supportive care she could provide at home while I worked on the other side, trying to figure out how to get him seen by a veterinarian.

Unfortunately, neonatal kittens can be incredibly challenging cases, and many veterinarians, especially in emergency settings, may recommend euthanasia when a neonate is this critically ill. We simply aren’t taught a lot about neonatal medicine in veterinary school, and there can also be an assumption that rescues aren’t willing or able to pursue aggressive treatment.

But Toyota deserved a chance. One of my incredibly experienced veterinary assistants was able to place an IV catheter, while I provided dosing instructions from afar so we could get him started on more aggressive supportive care while we wait for me to get home. And already, he’s looking SO much better. 🥹 This little guy is a fighter. ❤️

Ear cleaning in a new foster! He had ear mites. They Are resolved but left behind debris. We spent about 15 minutes getting his ears cleaned. I tried to be as gentle as possible.

Bottle babies. Thriving. Fat. Happy.

Little flea ridden Toyota got some friends! These 2 nuggets needed a landing spot and have been getting care elsewhere. They are the same age so now Toyota won’t grow up alone. What should their names be???
