Every surgery starts long before the first incision. It starts with a veterinary technician who has spent years mastering their skills, anticipating needs, monitoring vitals, and showing up fully prepared for every patient who comes through the door.

Vet techs are the heart of every OR team, and their skill and dedication make a difference every single day. At some VCA specialty hospitals, we take surgical collaboration even further. Some of our teams include Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs) — professionals who earned specialized degrees specifically to support surgeons in the OR.

The result? Less time under anesthesia. Better outcomes. And a team that truly works as one. 💙

Because every patient is somebody's pet — and they deserve nothing less than the best.

A Heartfelt Thank you to all our clients. 💗
Each year, over the holidays VCA North Portland and all other VCA's host a "Home for the Holidays Campaign" in which every dollar raised helps fund VCA Charities’ programs like HOPE Funds, Disaster Relief grants, Fighting Hometown Hunger, and Ready for Rescue, removing barriers to pet ownership and helping them find and remain in loving homes.

🐾 Why Annual F***l Testing Matters

Even healthy-looking pets can carry intestinal parasites. Annual f***l testing helps detect hidden parasites early—protecting your pet’s health and helping prevent the spread to other animals and people. Routine screening keeps tails wagging, litter boxes safer, and families healthier. 💙 Talk to us about keeping f***l testing part of your pet’s yearly wellness care.
