Sweet Sonja was abandoned in an apartment building when her owner moved out 😿 Through no fault of her own, she found herself starting over, and sadly, life in the shelter hasn't been easy on this beautiful girl 🥺
Sonja has high blood pressure and needs daily medication, but the good news is that it's inexpensive, and she's even gracious enough to take it mixed into a teaspoon of baby food! She also struggles with chronic conjunctivitis, which requires frequent eye cleaning. But considering everything she's been through, she's actually quite tolerant of the whole routine!
When Sonja first arrived, she was a gentle little lap cat. But as the years have passed, the stress of shelter life has taken its toll, and she's become more withdrawn. It feels like her little light has slowly dimmed, and we are just dying to see it shine again 😭
We know the right person is out there somewhere. Someone kind, someone patient. Someone who understands that sometimes the cats who need us most are the ones who take a little extra time to come out of their shells 🩷
✨ Sonja does wonderfully with other cats and would thrive in a calm, quiet home where she can finally relax and feel safe. She doesn't need a perfect life. She just needs someone willing to give her a chance at a better one 🙏
Please don't overlook Sonja because she has a few extra needs or isn't the outgoing girl she once was. We believe there's still so much love inside that little heart, just waiting for the right person to help her feel like herself again 🥹
Could you be the safe place Sonja has been waiting for? Or maybe you know someone who could give this deserving girl the peaceful forever home she so desperately needs?
🎉 A SPECIAL GIFT FOR SONJA! 🎉
A very kind past adopter has generously sponsored Sonja's adoption fee in the hopes of helping her finally find the loving home she deserves! We are so grateful for this thoughtful gesture and for someone who wants to give a harder-to-adopt kitty a better chance.❤️
Sonja's adoption fee is now covered, but her future family should be prepared to provide for her ongoing medical needs, including her daily blood pressure medication and eye care. We still want to make sure Sonja finds the right match, because she deserves a home where she'll be loved, safe, and cared for for the rest of her life! 🌈
Please share Sonja's story. Her person is out there somewhere, and we would love nothing more than to help them find each other 💞
