Did you know your dog has 5 possible fear responses? These are emotional responses and can’t be rewarded or punished.

Fight - this might look like lunging, barking, growling. This is common when our dogs are on lead and have limited options.
Flight - generally this will be your dogs first response, to flee an approaching threat.
Freeze - dog becomes completely stiff with fear. It’s sometimes seen at the vets.
Fidget - dog can’t sit still, this may include pacing, fool around, nibbling at themselves.
Fawn - Appeasing behaviours, laying on their back, going low and sometimes urinating.

This upcoming Saturday, 3/28/26, the clinic will be extremely short staffed. Due to this staffing issue, we are unable to schedule any additional appointments on Saturday so any urgent cases may need to go to the emergency clinic if they cannot wait until we reopen next Tuesday.

If your pet is in need of medication refills, please call us prior to Saturday so we can guarantee a timely fill.

Thank you so much for your understanding!

Did you know that if your pet is displaying signs like increased frequency of urination, squatting to urinate but not producing much, and/or blood in the urine, it might be more than just a urinary tract infection?

Uroliths (bladder stones) can also be a cause of these symptoms and can be mistaken for a UTI without proper diagnostics, namely x-rays. Sometimes, if they are small, a prescription diet can be used to dissolve them. However, some require surgical removal, like these ones did. In fact, these may be among the biggest uroliths we have ever removed from a patient here at the clinic!

Can anyone guess what kind of dog these bladder stones came from? πŸ€”
