We at Thorn Ave wanted to update our community on our status as of April 6. In light of the ever changing COVID-19 situation, we have made some changes to keep you and our staff safe.
As an essential business, Thorn Ave remains open for patients that have a health issue, to refill and dispense medications, and for telephone consults. We have reduced the number of staff in the hospital and slightly reduced our hours.
Medications can be conveniently picked up at the window on our porch to minimize your exposure.
Please call for an appointment if your pet has been having an issue. We will see if it is something we can address over the phone or with a prescription, or if we should see your pet.
When you arrive for an appointment, call our front office from the parking lot. When we are ready, one of our technicians will come out to your car and discuss with you what is going on with your pet. The technician will then take your pet into the hospital while you wait in the car.
The veterinarian will examine your pet, then call you on the phone to discuss the next steps and give you an opportunity to ask any questions. Once we have administered any tests or treatments, your pet will be returned to your car, and you can pay at the window on the porch.
Please contact us for your heartworm, flea, and tick medications. Ticks are very active between 40F and 60F degrees and are out in force right now!
