🚨 Important Office Closure Notice and Prescription Food Update 🚨

Southtowns Animal Hospital will be closed on Friday, June 12th, 2026 due to construction and upgrades in our treatment area.

During this time we will be very limited on the amount of prescription food we can carry here in the office. We ask that our clients utilize Hills to Home or Purina Vet Direct during this time to order prescription pet food.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience as we continue making improvements to better serve our patients and clients 🐾

Southtowns Animal Hospital will be closed on Memorial Day, Monday, May 26th.

As a reminder, summer celebrations can bring extra risks for pets:
• Keep pets away from BBQ foods and bones
• Avoid leaving pets outdoors unattended in the heat
• Fireworks can be stressful for many pets. Provide a safe, quiet space for them

We would like to congratulate Trocaire College on graduating its very first Veterinary Technology class 🐾🎓

After the closure of Medaille College, Western New York went several years without a local veterinary technician program. Thanks to the dedication and hard work of those involved at Trocaire, veterinary technician education has officially returned to WNY.

We are especially proud that one of our own team members, Trish, was one of the individuals who helped spearhead and build the program from the ground up 💛 Her passion for veterinary medicine and education helped create new opportunities for future veterinary technicians in our community.

We’re also proud that our technician Jess C. and former technician Jess S. have helped support and mentor students at Trocaire.

In addition, Trocaire was recently granted initial accreditation from the American Veterinary Medical Association Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (AVMA CVTEA) — an exciting milestone for the program and its future graduates.

Congratulations to the graduates, faculty, and everyone involved in bringing this program back to Western New York!

Southtowns Animal Hospital will be closed on Monday, May 25th for Memorial Day.

Please remember to request any medication refills, prescription diets, or preventatives before the holiday weekend. We ask for at least 72 hours notice on all refill requests to help ensure medications are ready before the office closes.

Rosie came back to see us yesterday for her final puppy appointment at 16 weeks old, and we loved getting to see how much she’s grown 🐶

She even showed off her new trick and learned how to give paw for treats 🐾✨
