EXPOSURE doesnโt mean throwing your dog into the deep end.
Out here with Scully getting some healthy exposure on the first day of Super Girl Festival Series Oceanside. This is one of my personal favorite events that showcases women athletes. ๐
Scully did amazing today, out and about during the first (and least busy!) day of the event. Keep in mind: this is a big, loud, stimulating environment, and itโs been very hot out. Although there were a number of dogs there, including Scully, these types of events can be stressful and overwhelming for many dogs.
๐๐ผExposure doesnโt mean throwing your dog into the deep end. Good exposure means giving your dog the opportunity to experience new environments while paying attention to their body language, keeping them comfortable, and knowing when theyโve had enough. She and I spent a lot of time chilling in cooler areas with the vendors and shade hopping along our walk there and back. She and I communicated with one another and worked together to ensure today was a positive experience. ๐
The goal isnโt simply to have a dog who can tolerate anything. Itโs to help them build confidence while learning and managing potential stresses. Want to learn how to do this?! DM me!
