Another Black Cat highlight for Black Cat Awareness Month!

Countess Chocula is a regal six-year-old that likes to watch over the room from her high perch. She enjoys playing tug of war with string toys, wrestling or cuddling with her cat friends, and loyally protecting her small social circle. She's a tricky one to win over, but once you do? You'll be greatly rewarded.

Countess is in foster with one of her friends, so if you want to meet her fill out the adoption questionnaire on our website. She does need a cat friend to go home to or with, because what would she do with her life if she didn't have another cat to protect with her motherly instincts?!

Black Cat Awareness Month continues!

Pictured here is Corn Flake, a four-year-old female currently adoptable from foster! While she may look a little rough (her fur and skin is still healing from an extreme reaction to fleas), Ms. Corn Flake is a wonderful cat with a beautiful soul.

She will follow you around until you pet her, rest her head on your lap for comfort, is always up for play time (with you or another cat), and absolutely adores her cat friends! Bring this lovely girl home and get a playful cuddle buddy for life.

Fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website to schedule a time to meet her in foster. Please note that Corn Flake requires a cat friend in her new home, whether that is your previously adopted resident cat or one of her friends from foster.

The shelter can be very overwhelming for some cats, especially those that prefer their space and aren't used to lots of people and animals constantly around them.

That's when our wonderful foster volunteers enter the picture. When we have a cat that doesn't seem to be happy or comfortable at our shelter, we send them to foster to get one-on-one attention from a dedicated and loving human.

If you are looking for a cat with specific social skills, make sure to check out their description on our adoption page before meeting them. Cats in our shelter are typically cat-friendly or even cat-dependent, and those in foster often prefer the solo life.

👁🐈 FIND THE CAT!

Besides Muffin (in the white cage), there is one other cat in this photo... do you see her? She seems to think she's hiding very well, but we're not so sure.
