Here is a good catch!

At 7 years old and a fit 41 pounds, Jax is the perfect mix of brains, beauty, and a little bit of mischief. He’s the kind of dog who’ll make you laugh daily and still melt your heart with those soulful Border Collie eyes.

He’s sweet and loving. Silly and sassy. Curious and intelligent. Energetic and knows how (and when) to chill. His favorite pastimes include tug-of-war, snuggling, and food puzzles (because genius needs enrichment). He will ward off any squirrel or rabbit invasions that may be planned in your backyard in exchange for belly (and butt!) rubs.

Jax will thrive in an active household that loves adventure: hikes, walks, or interactive games. Daily mental and physical exercise are the key to keeping him happy. He’s got a nice off switch, making him oh-so-easy to live with. He would love to have a fenced yard, be kept safe on leash, or could be professionally trained on an invisible fence.

Jax would love a canine sibling. He does great with dogs at the boarding facility he visits on occasion. He could also be an only dog in a engaged family that makes him their center. Best with older kids (roughly 12+). No kitties, please.

He’s happy to be contained in a room/area while his people are out and about, not being a big fan of a crate. He walks nicely on leash unless one of those pesky squirrels crosses his path – he has to give them a piece of his mind! He knows basic obedience commands, is wickedly smart, learns fast, and communicates with his humans through his expressive, thoughtful eyes.

Jax will keep his lucky new family smiling, guessing, and loving every minute together. If he sounds like the perfect fit for you, APPLY to adopt him at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt

Jax is located in Elk River, MN.

His adoption fee is $450 + MN sales tax. He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. Upon adoption, all of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Pure Aussie

Courtesy Post! This boy is located near Platteville! Call (630) 673-5483! We personally know Archie and can say ...he's a great dog, just needs a new chapter as the dynamic of his world is changing! This is hard for his humans, but its needed, so please no negativity! He has been so well cared for..In their words..

🐾 Archie is Looking for His Perfect Home 🐾
Meet Archie, a 6-year-old purebred Australian Shepherd looking for the right family to enjoy his next chapter of life.
Archie is a smart, well-trained boy who knows commands and fun tricks like paw and play dead. He walks nicely on a leash, loves learning, and is highly food-motivated, making him enjoyable to work with.
Archie takes a little time to warm up to new people, but once he gets to know you, he's a loyal companion. Because of his personality, he's looking for a home without young children and would do best with adults or older, dog-savvy kids who understand and respect his space.
While Archie can do okay with other dogs, we believe he'd be happiest as the only pet, where he can soak up all the love and attention for himself.
Like many dogs who value their meals, Archie prefers to be left alone while eating, so his new family should be comfortable respecting that boundary.
This decision has not been made lightly, and we're committed to finding Archie the home he truly deserves. If you think you could provide him with a patient, loving, and understanding home, please reach out. We'd love to tell you more about this special boy and help find his perfect match.

***Available for Adoption!!!***

Meet Mario!
What a lovely little man! Sweet, sincere, and ready to join in whatever fun is going on, Mario says it’s never too late to have a joyful puppyhood. He is wonderful with other dogs, very respectful and tries to follow their lead. Plays with those who will indulge him and is friendly to those who correct him.
Mario has learned to use the dog door and enjoys the yard without restrictions.
Sleeps quietly and cleanly in a crate all night.
House training is a work in progress but he really wants to be a good boy so it shouldn’t take too much longer.
This is a very soft little guy who will blossom in a family who provides loving guidance, structure and gentle exposure to all the big new things in the world. He will do well in a family with another dog that can provide guidance and is willing to play a good game of chase or bitey face.

Mario is roughly 9-10 months old, microchipped, neutered, up to date on vaccines and is being fostered in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
