So I really don’t mind the spiders in my barn. Most of them keep their webs up in corners or on the roof. But these dang Joro spiders are relentless, and are displacing my funnel web spiders (that generally stay in corners or places I won’t be till fall) Every time I relocate one to the out side, I come back to 3 more, with new (quickly built webs, in areas I frequently need to be. Today I walked in to one of my brown spotted funnel web spiders that made a web across my door way.
As much as I hated to knock it down, kinda had too. It wasn’t a normal web for this type of spider and seemed rushed and almost as if it was quickly claiming its space against those stupid invaders. Also 3 more of those today.
I hate killing spiders (unless they pose and threat) but y’all I’m about to figure out how to make these Joro spiders regret entering my barn.

Okay so meat pen babies still getting evaluated. 14 weeks and 6.25 lbs (minimum show weight)
At 14 weeks (we call this the uglies) somethings will not change over the next couple weeks, but some thing will.
I’ll just hand work for the next couple weeks. No real hard push, but just getting them more comfortable with the table. He still needs to fill in elsewhere.
But that “high point” gives me hope!

Why have I never thought of this?

For long weekend shows.
So like a roll in on Friday, show Saturday and then travel home on Sunday.
Every one knows how bad a car load of dirty travel cage trays smell by Sunday morning. Also considering limited space (as I drive a Ranger)
I set my trays with a p*e pad, fine shaving and PDZ. I don’t often have room for a bag of shavings and I really don’t even need that much.
I use a food scoop to scoop out my shavings. I counted how many it takes. I put that much plus 1 scoop extra in a gallon bag.
Bam! I have exactly what I need and saves space.
Y’all totally going to be a convention show/ pack travel hack from now on.
