🎓🐾 Nico's 3-Week Board & Train Transformation 🐾🎓

Nico came to training as a typical young puppy full of energy and enthusiasm. Over the past three weeks, he has worked hard and learned an impressive set of skills that will help him be a well-mannered family companion.

✅ Place CommandNico can remain on his place bed for up to an hour, even with distractions such as people moving around, doors opening, and doorbells ringing. He stays until released with the word "Break."

✅ Crate TrainingNico is comfortable relaxing quietly in his crate for up to an hour and will remain there until released.

✅ HeelWalks politely by his handler's side without pulling.

✅ Loose-Leash WalkingEnjoys calm, controlled walks on leash.

✅ RecallComes when called and has begun off-leash recall training using an e-collar on vibrate only.

✅ StayCan hold a stay with duration and distractions while remaining calm and focused.

✅ No More Puppy BitingHas learned appropriate ways to interact with people without using his teeth.

✅ No More JumpingGreets family members politely without jumping up.

✅ BringNico learned how to retrieve items. Whether it's a ball, water bottle, remote control, or another object, he can bring it when asked and directed to it.

✅ TouchNico learned nose targeting ("Touch"), which can be used for advanced training, tricks, and communication buttons. He can even learn to touch buttons programmed for things like going outside, requesting food, or other activities.

Every dog progresses at their own pace. My goal is always to take each dog as far as they can go in the time we have together. Some dogs may learn advanced skills such as off-leash reliability, retrieving specific items, or communication buttons, while others may focus on foundational obedience first.

I'm incredibly proud of Nico and excited for his family to continue building on everything he's learned! ❤️🐾

Nico, five months old, is learning to retrieve and bring items on command — a real Service Dog task that can change someone’s everyday life. 🐾

This is advanced training involving impulse control, confidence building, focus, problem solving, and learning how to work with a human as a team. It also helps to prevent resource guarding.

For some people, a dog trained to retrieve items can help with:• mobility assistance• picking up dropped objects• reducing frustration and physical strain• increasing independence• emotional grounding and confidence

Service Dog work is not just obedience — it’s teaching a dog how to think, stay calm under pressure, and perform meaningful tasks in the real world.

If you’re interested in Service Dog training, task training, general obedience, reactivity, confidence building, or helping your dog become calmer and more reliable in everyday life, message me for details.

From chaos to connection.

Beau is learning how to live with his family instead of constantly reacting to the world around him. Confidence, accountability, and calmness don’t happen overnight — but this boy is putting in the work. 🐶

Your puppy is capable of so much more than most people realize. The earlier you build structure, confidence, focus, and clear communication, the easier life becomes as they grow. 🐾

Nico is only 5 months old and already showing incredible impulse control and focus. 👏

Puppies this age naturally struggle with impulse control, attention span, and environmental distractions because their brains are still maturing. That’s why training at this stage is so important — we’re building confidence, focus, neutrality, and the ability to make good decisions even when exciting things are happening around them. 🐾❤️🐾. The guest list was full the moment the gate opened. Today’s forecast: 99% chance of chaos and wagging tails.

Nico is only 5 months old and just arrived for board & train two days ago 👏

He is extremely smart and already picking things up FAST.

In this video, you’ll see real-time learning:– When he makes a mistake, I use clear verbal communication– Body pressure to guide him back into position– And sometimes a food lure to help him understand what’s being asked

This is how dogs learn best—clear structure, consistency, and timing.

You’ll also notice he’s wearing an e-collar. At this stage, it’s not being used for correction. It’s introduced properly so he can later understand tone/vibration for things like recall and off-leash reliability.

For only two days in, Nico is already showing huge progress 🔥. offleash ecollartraining dogsofinstagram
