Blue Ridge Animal Hospital

Edgar made it clear how he felt about us at his last visit 😅 but at least our friends at Boops and Beans appreciate what we do 🥰

😻 THANK YOU! 😻

Just wanted to drop a quick thank you to our friends at Blue Ridge Animal Hospital for always squeezing our kitties into their schedule when they need to get checked out.

Edgar may have been preoccupied during his visit, but they helped him feel better when he overdid it and hurt his elbow. But he is on the mend and will be back to running the wheel soon, we’re sure. Thank you, friends!

We are so excited to announce that the wonderful Dr Ball, whom some of you may already know and love, will be joining our team regularly on Wednesday mornings starting in September! 🥳

We will then be open regular hours on Wednesdays - 8am-530pm - but appointment times for Doctor visits will be moving to 830am-1230pm, with the occasional afternoon appointments available. We will still have someone available all day for medication refills or to answer any questions you may have.

We look forward to being able to be here more for our fantastic clients and of course our patients! 🤩

If there is an orange cat in the clinic, you can bet Brittany will not be far behind to hand out some cuddles and kisses 😆🧡

Today’s “victim” - honestly can you blame her?! 🥹

We wanted to let everyone know that our parking lot will be getting a much needed make over next week! With that being said, from Tuesday the 14th - Sunday the 19th all clients will need to park at Cabinets to Go and walk over from there. They are located directly beside of our building, and we are asking that you park at the far end of their parking lot closest to us so we can try to limit interference with their business. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

❤️ FIND A VET THAT SMILES! 🥰

Find a vet that smiles like this when they are taking care of your animals! Dr. Amy is the relief vet at Blue Ridge Animal Hospital today and she was so kind in caring for our foster boy Dwayne. She said the Toms hold a special place in her heart.

Sweet Dwayne saw the vet today because he has been attacking himself. Seriously...sounds like a cat fight althoughhe'sin a room alone. Amy's assessment is that he is suffering from hyperesthesia. Hyperesthesia is a condition characterized by an increased sensitivity to touch, pain, and other sensory stimuli. He has self inflicted wounds all along his tail. His tail was shaved and cleaned. He received a convenia injection (antibiotic) to ward off any infection which is especially important since he is FIV+. He is receiving onsior (to control pain & inflammation) and gabapentin (to help with pain & anxiety). He also has pretty cruddy, itchy ears so posatex to address an ear infection. He will wear the eCollar until his tail heals. He goes for a recheck in two weeks.

But get this...all that and Dwayne purred pretty much non stop. So glad his sunny disposition is intact!

📸 he may or may not have been whacking Dr. Amy in the face with his cone

😎 We are excited to announce that we are now offering cold laser therapy! 😎

Laser Therapy, or photobiomodulation, is a non-invasive, highly effective, safe and non-surgical treatment that can be used for a variety of ailments and even after surgical procedures. It has been shown to aid in incision/wound healing and also has anti-inflammatory properties to make your pet more comfortable. It can be used for -

Osteoarthritis and tendon/ligament disorders
Hot Spots, burns, lick granulomas

It can even be used for things like ear infections, cystitis (and other urinary system disorders), asthma and more.

We are very excited about this new treatment option we are able to offer to help the comfort of our patients! Plus, Sirius shows how cool their safety goggles make them look! 😌
