Welcome to BestPals little Tito and Juanita. 2 little Chihuahua’s that are best pals! Tito is white and brown, 7 1/2 years old and his pal is Juanita is 6 1/2 yrs old and tan color. They must go together! That is non negotiable. They love each other and need to stay close.

They are smart, sweet, adorable and house broken. They use peen pads or potty outside. Little Juanita still needs to get spayed and other medical done. But they will be available soon!

I want to acknowledge so many of the BestPals volunteers! These wonderful people who come here every week, some for many years now, are amazing!!

The love and compassion they pour into the rescue has made us the successful rescue that we are. It is because of their commitment that we can open our doors for visits at the drop of a hat. We are clean, organized, and have well-loved pets waiting for forever homes. Thank you, Verna, Karen, Darcy, Gordon, Stelios, Elli, Doug, Marissa, Rebeka, Matt, Bob, Kim, Noah, and our latest cat whisperer, John. Also those on call when we are in a pinch. The depth of my gratitude is immense!

We also have so many people behind the scenes who do so much! Amy, whom we call our office manager, volunteers several hours every week to file reports, prepare paperwork for surrenders and adoptions, manage our banking needs, and more. Kris is also an amazing friend and volunteer who looks into and writes grants, completes mailings, helps with so many emails, and helps me get through my toughest days! Emmy lives in Chicago but keeps in touch almost daily to keep our Facebook/Instagram posts up to date, and she manages our adoption pet-sites. Becca likes to walk, train, and take our pups on adventures. She posts all about it to help get them in the public’s eye. She stops by often to bring treats, organize donations, or lend a hand. Jen registers our microchips for every single adoption. We rarely see her, but we know she is there doing this important work. Wally cuts our (almost 3-acre) lawn all summer long. He has been doing this for years. Scott stops by to fill bird feeders, walk pups, and help me with any tasks I have. Deb comes to organize our sale items at the Lazy Cat Lounge and Consignment Shop. Bill walks pups, adds holiday decorations, and helps with many tasks. Also Laura, Molly others fosters, who take in pets to give them special care! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

So yes, it takes a village and together we rescue! 🐾

Volunteers do make a difference! Thanks Becca from Maddie's Playhouse-Holland, MI for taking such good care of BB and Dober and sprucing up BestPals! Planting the donated flowers from Mary and Bruce and from your own backyard and laying all the mulch! The place is looking good!!
