Congratulations my wonderful friends!!!

We know we already shared the news, but Lakeshore Pet Boutique has been named one of the regional winners in the 2026 Best of Michigan awards! 🐾

Meet Arbor!! He's a mini bernadoodle baby and he started Puppy Club on Saturday- much to Lincoln's delight!
He did excellent for his first day!
He and Lincoln are going to be getting groomed soon- so I decided to add in some time on the grooming table and in the groom tub to help them get used to all of that! They both did great! Monday, Ill add in some exposure to the dryer.

They worked on the name game and their "watch me" and "sit and wait" both puppies did excellent.

Last weeks basic manners class was a really productive and fun class! The dogs and humans did such a great job!
We worked on sit stay. Down (without popping up right away and staying in the down position)

We introduced "touch" and wait at the door and other thresholds for an invite to go through!!

Bonnie also is still working on walking on the turf and grass but her play confidence is fantastic. She will play with little dogs and big dogs and have the most fun while doing it!!!

What did the puppies learn in club on Saturday?! Taking and giving cues! Being appropriate.
I have the advantage of sharing Paisely, a goofy and happy Golden with my friend Karen Siddall- ( i don't actually share Paisley but karen never says she can't come over for sleepovers!) And one of Paiselys gifts is she can issue an "I Mean Business" cue without scaring or hurting anyone and she is happy to go back to being friends once the cue has been received and respected!
Puppies really need to know how to read and follow cues from their older friends and each other.
You will see some pictures of Grey not being appropriate because she isn't taking paiselys very patient cues to get out of her face and then after several moments Paisely gave a correction- but her mouth never made contact with grey and they went on to play. As the morning went on- the play became more balanced even between the rough and rowdy pups.
Then they were introduced to two more great adult dogs and continued to follow the polite cues!
Plus it was just so fun to let them run and play!

Update on the Impulse Control Workshop:::
We are starting next Wed rather than tonight.

The class will meet Wed, June 17 at 6pm and Wed, June 24 at 6pm. Both sessions hosted at Lakeshore Pet Boutique downtown Douglas where you can shop with a 15% discount after class...
