This is one of the first Blueberry/Oakenshield puppies!

11 month old cattle dog male. Neutered and up to date, microchipped.
Location: Ionia MI

Potty trained, crate trained, leash trained basic obediance, good off lead as most cattle dogs are. Does really good with his sister from the same litter. Been exposed to horses and other livestock. Pretty great with other animals in general.

Does not do well with a busy house hold or strangers (very common for the breed). He did ok with a very full house of 5 kids, but this summer when those 5 had their friends over a lot he struggled with all the action and would get too wound up by the activity and would default to "manage chaos" herding mode. He did not put teeth on anyone, but the family feels he could live a better life in a less busy home.

So he was returned! Sulyn has been letting him chill for the last week and got him out to try out his training for the first time in that time. The videos are from this first session! He is a very good dog with a lot of training!

Despite what we consider to be very reasonable cattle dog behavior from him, Breeder's placement preferences for his future home is single adult or couple household with no kids. Someone that would love a walking/hiking buddy would love this guy!

There is a rehoming fee .
He comes with lifetime breeder support!

Pretty as a picture. ❤️🥰 This is one of the Oakenshield/Blueberry pups from Sky Blue Australian Cattle Dogs . Sulyn Bettinghouse and Blueberry did an amazing job bringing this litter up as usual! They were gorgous, social, brave, inquisitive and stable minded, every single one of them! Just like their momma and daddy! This pairing is chiefs kiss! 🥰

I was not going to board anyone this holiday season. However when I was contacted to board this little lady, it was a bit of a unique situation!

She will be with us for the Holiday Season and we will make her feel like she is at home! 🎄❤️

Those of you in my friend list already know, but about a month and a half ago Maple began declining in just about every way. She was bad enough I thought for sure she had cancer and it was the end.

I took her into our vet and basically said "Nothing is off the table, figure out what's wrong." It did not take our excellent vet long to find the issue!

Maple is diabetic!

Dogs typically only are effected by Type 1 diabetes. Meaning she is now on insulin for the rest of her life. We started that journey about a month ago. I also went to work on personal research. New food, new treats, new routine. I purchased an at home meter and began home testing. A section of countertop is now dedicated to all her supplies. 🤣

The good news is that in just a month, she has turned a corner and has made a 180! Her blood glucose read 145 yesterday at her check up. When she was diagnosed a month ago, she was at 588. The normal range for a dog is between 76-180.

She has gained a lb back after losing about 10 in a very short time. Her coat is looking better again and she is not as itchy. She gave herself an ear hematoma itching. Hence the folded ear!

Her energy has returned and she is moving better than she has all summer! She is on cosequin now as well. She's getting all the things. 🤣

All I wanted for Christmas was my little dog to be doing better, it seems my wish is granted. ❤️🥰🎄

✨️ Curtesy Post ✨️

This is Storm. Storm is a 4yo cattle dog female.

Storm had a rough start in life and was taken on by a skilled and educated person. She is looking for a 🏡!
She is in Lansing area!

Pros:

💚 Good on lead.
💚 Loves kids when she meets them (as young as 2yo)!
💚 Wonderful off lead (AFTER bonding period).
💚 GREAT loose in the house.
💚 No accidents.
💚 Knows heel.
💚 Was taught "Place" or "stay".
💚 Good with other dogs.
💚 Good with small dogs.
💚 Loves the car.
💚 Taught basic herding commands on a ball (and loves it).
💚 Taught down, sit, paw, heel, center and other commands.
💚 Very food motivated and familier with learning.

Noteworthy:
💛 Has not been around livestock, but shows interest.

💛 Has been around cats but requires careful and slow introduction.

💛 Has had no ecollar training.

💛 Is not spayed. (I was quoted just over $300 to spay one of my girls at a local vet recently. I would be happy to share that information.)

💛 Is crate trained, does not like it. She was left in a crate for days and days on end in her puppy home. It is unfortunately a negative experiance for her. With time she may become more comfortable, but a home that doesn't NEED to crate for long periods is prefered. If you are concerned about finding boarding her in the future should you need, I do offer a private, crateless board option here and she would be welcome.

💛 Was not socialized much as a puppy.

Cons:
❤️ Barrier frustration. She can be reactive on lead during walks. Sometimes she is perfect other times she lunges and barks. Same in the car.

❤️ Requires proper introduction to new people to feel comfortable. Starting with sharing space and being ignored, then slowly moving to play. This is very breed correct of her.

❤️ Can be people selective. She does not prefer tall men. However it sounds like again with the proper introduction she comes around.

The ideal situation for this girl would be on someone's property in tge country, in a home familier with this breed or other "sharp" breed. She could potentially be a great dog for a woman that is home alone often and would like a dog that just wants to be attached at the hip and would be a great deterrent for "unsavory" individuals.

I am happy to donate some training help and time to this dog and guide the new owner if need be!
Pm me and I will put you in contact with her current owner. :)
