Rowdy Found His Forever Home! 🏡

We’re so happy to announce that Rowdy has officially been adopted by Nancy and Carlos!

Nancy and Carlos are an active couple from Prescott who instantly connected with Rowdy. With plenty of love and attention, an active neighborhood, family and friends nearby, and that beautiful Prescott weather, we think Rowdy has landed in a pretty great spot.

Rowdy is an amazing dog, and we couldn’t be happier to see him begin this next chapter with his forever family. 💙

🐾 Momma Ashy Gets Her Happy Ending! 💕

Momma Ashy, now Stormy, has officially found her forever home!

Stormy came to DLRR as an owner surrender and was placed with a family through our Take Me Home Program. Soon after, they noticed her growing belly—and a vet visit brought quite the surprise: Stormy was very pregnant! Since she was already so far along, she welcomed our adorable Breakfast Club litter. 🐶

All of her puppies have since found their forever homes, Stormy has been spayed, and now it’s finally Momma’s turn to make it official!

A huge thank you to everyone who played a part in Stormy’s journey, and especially to Amy and her family for standing by her through every unexpected twist and giving this sweet girl the loving forever home she deserves.

Congratulations, Stormy! Your happily ever after is officially complete. 🐾❤️

📣 Alumni Update: Rudy

One phone call changed everything. 📞

Last Fourth of July, Debbie received a call asking if she could foster Rudy, a young Flat-Coated Retriever pup at Maricopa County Animal Care & Control. Even though Rudy wasn't a yellow Lab like her two previous DLRR dogs, it didn't take long for him to steal her heart. What started as fostering quickly became the happiest kind of "foster fail." 🫶

One year later, Rudy has visited two states, met his doodle cousin, learned to swim, discovered a love for hiking, and made incredible progress overcoming separation anxiety. His adorable, goofy, and mischievous personality continues to bring endless joy to his family. ✨

Thank you, Debbie, for opening your heart to Rudy and for sharing his story with us. Stories like yours remind us of the lasting impact of rescue. 📖

Help Maverick See a Brighter Future!

Maverick was adopted from DLRR as a puppy and is now facing an unexpected medical challenge. At just one year old, he has been diagnosed with cataracts in both eyes and has already lost most of the vision in his right eye.

His family is hoping cataract surgery can help preserve his eyesight and has started a GoFundMe to help with the cost of his care. ❤️

One “yes” can change everything for a rescue Lab. 🏠

Fosters are what make rescue possible. By opening their homes, they give us the ability to help more Labs and provide them with the care and support they need while in our program.

We offer full-time, temporary, and vacation foster opportunities, making it easier for more people to be part of a Lab’s rescue journey.

You don’t need to have previous fostering experience to get started. We provide support along the way to help fosters feel prepared and confident.

Update on Diamond! 🐾

Diamond came to DLRR in April 2025 with her five puppies from an accidental litter. The family who had taken her in was preparing to spend the summer as campground hosts and knew a busy RV campground wasn’t the right place for a mom and five little puppies. They made the difficult decision to surrender the whole family to DLRR.

After raising her pups, Momma Diamond was spayed and found her forever home with Robin—and she also got a new name, Tilly!

We heard from Robin today, and Tilly is doing wonderfully. She is very, very spoiled and, most importantly, so very loved!

We love happy updates like this. Tilly, you found exactly where you belong! ❤️🐾
