‼️UPDATE‼️

Raider is ready for his forever home!!

We were fortunate to be able to move Raider to a foster home with another greyhound and a mini poodle. He is getting along really well and wants to play with the female greyhound but his puppy antics are a bit too much at times for this senior gal. He was interested in the mini poodle at first but is getting along well now with supervision. Here is what his foster mom has to say about him.

"He has no manners and doesn't have any clue what personal space is, LOL. I would recommend no small children. I think he would be too rough play and knock into them. Older kids that can handle a big puppy would have fun with his playfulness. He is super sweet, very nosey and wants to investigate everything. When he settles in he is very chill and naps. Most nights he sleeps all night. Once in a while he wakes me to go outside to potty. Loves his toys, loves fluffy blankets. He keeps pulling one off our bed and lays on it, LOL."

‼️Adoption or Foster Opportunity‼️
Raider, a 2-year-old neutered male, is available for adoption or foster care. His leg is healing nicely as he awaits upcoming radiographs. Raider would be an excellent fit for a home with a greyhound of any age, providing companionship and entertainment. In his current foster home, he gets along well with the resident dog and is learning to follow a schedule. Raider is also making progress in overcoming separation anxiety with professional help. As his current foster will be leaving soon for the summer, Raider needs either an experienced foster or a forever home. Not cat safe!

We had a GREYT hound walk this weekend! Thanks to everyone who came out to join us, and to Ranger Kerry and Prairie Oaks Metro Park for providing the beautiful and super dog-friendly trails.

Join us for a Team Greyhound group walk TOMORROW, April 25th from noon to 1:00 at Prairie Oaks Metro Park on the west side of Columbus. We'll walk the 1 mile Beaver Lake trail, with parking off the Beach Road entrance.

Attention Team Greyhound Nation!
We are sharing this post in hopes of helping find this bonded pair of greyhounds a new home TOGETHER. A bit of a sad story but they are greyhounds that unfortunately need a new home and that is the bottom line. All of the information is in their post below. 🐾🐾PENDING ADOPTION 🐾🐾

Hunter is a 60 #, 2.5 year old gorgeous black female who has retired from racing due to an injury. She has recently finished up with her appointments at OSU and is now looking for her forever home.

For the last couple of months she has been learning the ropes of living in a home from her greyhound foster brother.

Even though her foster brother is a bit of a cream puff (and gets to sleep in the humans bed, as unfair as she thinks this is!) she still likes having him in the home with her. She is comfortable sleeping in her crate overnight, as long as she is in the room with you.

Did someone say treats? Well, Hunter heard that and has figured out that that if she listens to her humans, she is rewarded with a treat, and I think that makes Hunter a very smart girl!

Hunter wants to please and is your typical velcro dog. As much as she likes to be where the action is, she still enjoys her quiet time alone on her bed.

Hunter likes to play! She loves throwing her toys up and chasing them! Experienced owners will understand that her nitting (or nibbling) is just a sign of affection, excitement or grooming and quite typical of a greyhound. She sometimes has to be reminded to be gentle and that your hand is not a toy to be put in her mouth!

So, if you are looking for a beautiful, affectionate, sweet as sugar girl, with a bit of a puppy personality and a side of "baby shark" thrown in, then Hunter just might be your girl!

Are you an experienced greyhound owner? Are you looking to adopt a very loving girl who wants to be queen of her castle? Then let me tell you a little about Miss Beanie.

The good...Beanie is a sweetheart. She will be a mature 4 in May but still likes to play with her toys. She has been in a foster home learning how to be a very good girl. She is finished with all of her initial treatments from her career ending injury and is enjoying having her restrictions lifted. She is pretty much housebroken and will let you know when she needs to go outside. She will enjoy long walks with her new human(s) getting to know each other. Do you value your sleep? Beanie does, and will let you sleep all night as long as she is in the room with you on her dog bed next to your bed.

The not so good...this tenacious girl is not everyone's cup of tea. She is not cat or small animal safe. She would actually prefer not to share her home with any other animals unless it was possibly a passive male greyhound. She is a bit selfish and also doesn't want to share her home with children. She has a bit of a toy hoarding problem. When she is sleeping she doesn't want to be disturbed (but who does?). She is cute and she knows it but she will be your best friend if you can follow a few of her rules.

We are calling this one..."The many faces of Casey!"

Casey is a 3 year old female who recently retired from racing due to an injury. Casey is all healed up and has the go ahead to finally find her forever home! Although Casey is currently living as an only dog in her foster home, she does get along well with other dogs and likes to play. Her favorite thing is shaking her stuffies and tossing them across the room so she can pounce on them like a lioness to her prey!
Just think how happy she would be to wake up Christmas morning to presents under the tree, just for her!
Casey is well on her way to being completely housebroken, stays in her crate when left alone and tested cat correctable. Keep in mind that she is a very smart girl, but is also very food motivated 😉.
