4 Legs 4 Hounds is registered in Ohio as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Our mission is to give medical care to injured greyhounds. This includes surgery and support throughout their recovery and rehabilitation. The Ohio State 4 Legs 4 Hounds Greyhound Program is a non-profit 501(c)3. The goal of the program is to surgically repair the greyhounds broken leg. After surgery, when the greyhound has been medically stabilized, the greyhound will be placed in a local medical

foster home. The foster home will be advised as to what medical care and rehabilitation the Orthopedic Surgeon has recommended for the greyhound. The medical foster home will bring the greyhound back to the Veterinary Hospital for medical care and follow-up as recommended by the Orthopedic Surgeon. The medical foster home will have regular contact with the Veterinary Hospital to discuss any medical issues between follow-up visits. When the greyhound is medically released by the Orthopedic Surgeon, the greyhound will be placed with a local adoption group. The adoption group will evaluate the greyhounds personality, needs and small animal test the greyhound. When these are known the adoption group will look for a forever home that is compatible with the greyhound. The forever home will need to know the greyhound is a 4 Legs 4 Hounds greyhound. They must agree to contact the adoption group if any medical issues arise with the surgically repaired leg. The must know to keep in contact with the adoption group as the greyhound will need to return to the Veterinary Hospital to have the plate that was inserted during surgery removed.

Hi everyone! B4G is once again seeking fosters in and around the Columbus area. Rip will ideally need a foster before this weekend. While Rip is new to us, his foster states that he is all about comfort, he loves blankets, pillows, the whole 9 yards. He also is very eager to please, very trusting, and a big foodie! We have another brand new hound, Mae, that will also need to be placed with a foster. Update: Dan has found a foster, thank you everyone!

Hi everyone, Buckeyes 4 Greyhounds (B4G) is in need of fosters again! We urgently are seeking a foster for our new boy, Dan. We are looking for short or long term placement in or around the Columbus Ohio area! While his cat status is unknown, his current foster states that he is a friendly sweet guy who is super calm and playful and loves cheese and other snacks! We are also looking for long term placement for our other new hound, Rip. Rip’s current foster states he is all about comfort, he loves blankets, pillows, the whole 9 yards. Why is this super sweet, playful boy still available? He will do best with another greyhound or big dog in the home. He is housebroken, gets along with small dogs and adores his foster greyhound sister. Who wants to give this sweet boy the home he has been waiting for?

URGENT FOSTER HOME NEEDED
for recently retired "Dan"

We need a foster family who will...

🐾 Be located in central Ohio
🐾 Have experience working with greyhounds
🐾 Agree to follow veterinary aftercare instructions, including followup appointments, medication, and exercise restrictions
🐾 Demonstrate patience and consistency as these racers adjust to the retired life

Dan should be ready to go to his foster home towards the end of the week. He will not be cat tested prior to foster home placement.

Team Greyhound and or 4L4H will supply you with everything you need to be a successful foster home.

B4G has two dogs in need of foster homes! Tink will need a (preferably) long term foster (but short term is fine!) and Bud will need a short term foster for 3.5 weeks! Fosters should be within driving distance of Columbus while the pups are recovering. Please reach out if interested!

Short little update photo from last week. Meet part of our OSU team that we are incredibly grateful for! On the left is our foster coordinator, Morgan, holding our cow pelted greyhound Giselle. To the right of Morgan is Dr. Mitch, a small animal surgery resident here at OSU who helps with the care of our hounds! Lastly, we have Dr. Wanstrath (second to last on the right with grey scrubs) who is a professor and small animal surgeon at OSU. We are very grateful for their work and help with our hounds during their healing process 🐶
