Redstone Husky Rescue We are a 501c3 approved organization that provides quality care to Texas Working Breeds for adoption. All Redstone dogs are treated like our family. Thank you!

When you donate to Redstone every penny of that money donated into the rescue bank account goes toward care of the dogs. The board does this completely on a "volunteer" basis and is not, and never will be, paid with donor money. We provide the care we would want for our own pets and strive to make their lives as stress free and happy as possible while they wait for their forever homes to find them

. We are a Fear Free focused rescue and adopt several low stress method of handling and adjustment. Whether that is calming pheromones, stress jackets, music, lighting or other methods, we cater to any dog's need as best we can. We cannot make this happen without community support. ☀️ Meet Ford ☀️

Somehow, this little guy's story started in the middle of a rainstorm.

Ford was found hiding under a car during bad weather, alone and trying to stay dry. Thankfully, he was rescued before anything worse could happen, and since then he has proven to be one of the sweetest, most well-adjusted puppies you could hope to meet.

At approximately 16–20 weeks old, Ford is everything people dream of when they imagine bringing home a puppy. He's social, affectionate, curious, and eager to make friends with everyone he meets.

People? He loves them.

Other dogs? Absolutely.

Kids? So far, he's been wonderful.

Sunshine, attention, playtime, and cuddles all rank very high on Ford's list of favorite things.

Despite his rough start, Ford has settled beautifully into rescue life and is already showing how smart he is. He knows sit, is crate trained, understands stay, and has generally been an exceptionally well-behaved puppy. Of course, he's still a puppy and will need continued training and guidance, but he's already off to a fantastic start.

Ford is looking for a family ready to enjoy all the fun parts of puppyhood while helping him continue growing into an amazing adult dog.

✔️ Approximately 16–20 weeks old
✔️ Shepherd-type mix
✔️ Dog friendly
✔️ Kid friendly
✔️ Smart and eager to learn
✔️ Crate trained
✔️ Vaccinated
✔️ Neutered
✔️ Dewormed
✔️ Microchipped with lifetime registration

If you're looking for a puppy with a wonderful foundation, a loving personality, and a bright future ahead of him, Ford might be your perfect match.

Please visit RedstoneHuskyRescue.org/adopt for his adoption application.

It's been a while since we have done a $5 Friday post. With gas prices going up, donations and adoptions going down, we are constantly worried as we run numbers.

Saving lives here in Texas isn't cheap, though we are able to stretch $5 quite a ways when it comes to wellness care.

Did you know that we spend nearly $600 a month on food for everyone? Prevention against heartworm/fleas/ticks runs approximately $300 every month if not more (depends on weight classes needed each month). Electricity, gas, water, enrichment... it all adds up quickly.

🖤 Meet Mordecai 🖤

Mordecai is not for everyone.

And honestly? That’s okay.

What Mordecai needs is someone experienced, patient, active, and willing to love a dog with a big personality and some very specific needs. In return, you get a goofy, loyal, entertaining companion who will keep you laughing every single day.

At 4 years old, this stunning Alaskan Malamute (confirmed 100% Malamute through Embark DNA testing) is full of energy, enthusiasm, and oversized malamute antics. He absolutely adores people and loves spending time outdoors, playing, exploring, and being involved with his humans.

Mordecai came into rescue after surviving life on the streets, where he had been attacked by other dogs and suffered multiple infected wounds while also battling mange. Despite everything he endured early in life, he remains incredibly people-focused and eager to connect.

That said, Mordecai does have significant management needs and requires an experienced home.

He is dog aggressive and must be an only dog. He also has a high prey drive, which means no cats or small animals. Because of his size, energy level, and rambunctious nature, he is not a fit for homes with children.

Mordecai is crate trained and has basic obedience skills, but he needs a confident handler who understands strong working breeds and can continue providing structure, boundaries, and consistency.

He also has a unique little quirk that makes him even more unforgettable: his lower jaw is shorter than his upper jaw, causing his tongue to stick out most of the time. Because of this malocclusion, he drinks water a bit messily and tends to inhale his food quickly, so he requires a slow feeder.

Mordecai is not a “take him everywhere and meet every dog” kind of pet.

He’s the kind of dog for someone who understands that some of the best dogs are the ones who simply need the right environment to succeed.

🖤 4 years old
🖤 100% Alaskan Malamute
🖤 Crate trained
🖤 High energy
🖤 Extremely people-oriented
🖤 Experienced home required
🖤 Only pet home

For the right person, Mordecai won’t just be a dog — he’ll be a full-blown personality.

Mordecai is vaccinated, heartworm negative, microchipped with lifetime registration, dewormed, and vaccinated.

🐾 Meet Charlie 🐾

Charlie is the definition of resilient.

When he first entered rescue, this young Siberian Husky was in rough shape — an emaciated stray, heartworm positive, and struggling with painful injuries to both knees caused by bilateral cruciate ligament tears. He needed major surgery on both legs, months of recovery, and extensive medical care.

And through all of it?

Charlie never stopped being happy.

At just 18 months old, Charlie is one of those dogs who wakes up every day excited to be alive. He’s outgoing, goofy, affectionate, and absolutely loves people. If you’re looking for a dog with a big personality and a zest for life, Charlie is your guy.

He has higher energy and loves being outdoors, exploring, and soaking up human attention, but he can also settle nicely once he’s had an outlet for his energy.

Charlie is crate trained and ready for a home that will continue building on his basic obedience and help him grow into the amazing companion we know he can be.

Because of his rambunctious play style, we think he’d do best with older kids (likely 14+) since he may accidentally knock over smaller children in his excitement. He has done well with female dogs in the past, but he does not do well with male dogs, so any potential canine siblings would require a proper meet and greet.

Charlie’s knees healed beautifully, but due to his past injuries and surgeries, he will need lifelong glucosamine supplements and may require arthritis management earlier in life than some dogs.

After everything he’s survived, Charlie deserves more than just a home — he deserves someone who sees how special he is.

💙 18 months old
💙 Siberian Husky
💙 Crate trained
💙 Loves people
💙 Adventure buddy material
💙 Survivor with a heart of gold

Charlie is neutered, up to date on core vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, on heartworm prevention (and has undergone treatment) and is ready for his new home!

If you are interested in adopting Charlie, please visit our webiite for more details. RedstoneHuskyRescue.org/adopt.

✨ Meet Cleo ✨

At just 18 months old, Cleo has already been through more change than most dogs should ever have to experience. This beautiful Siberian Husky was surrendered to a small rural shelter alongside her sister, where both girls were placed on the euthanasia list simply because there was nowhere for them to go.

Today, Cleo is safe — and now she’s looking for the forever home she deserves.

Like many huskies, Cleo has an independent streak and a little bit of that classic “husky attitude,” but underneath it all she is an incredibly sweet, social girl who absolutely loves other dogs. In fact, playtime with canine friends is one of her favorite things in the world.

Cleo and her sister had to be separated after rescue due to littermate syndrome, and both girls have absolutely blossomed while learning to grow independently. Cleo is thriving and gaining confidence every day.

She’s what we’d call a perfect “weekend warrior” companion — happy to join you for adventures, hikes, walks, or outings, but also able to settle nicely at home afterward. She has a wonderfully balanced energy level that makes her easy to enjoy.

Cleo does well with dogs and kids, but she would likely not be a good fit for a home with cats or small animals.

She would love a home with another playful dog, but most importantly she just needs someone willing to give her the love, stability, and fresh start she deserves.

💙 18 months old
💙 Siberian Husky
💙 Dog friendly
💙 Kid friendly
💙 Moderate energy
💙 No known medical needs

Cleo survived the shelter. Now she just needs someone to choose her.

Cleo is spayed, heartworm negative and on prevention, dewormed, vaccinated with core vaccines, and microchipped.

If you are interested in adopting Cleo, please visit RedstoneHuskyResuce.org/adopt for her full adoption profile and application.

🌾 Meet Andi 🌾

Some dogs come into rescue needing love.

And some dogs come into rescue needing to learn what safety even is.

Andi is one of those dogs.

Estimated to be around 3–4 years old, Andi spent part of her life surviving in a feral dog pack before eventually being trapped by animal control. She struggled significantly in the shelter environment, where the constant noise, stress, and confinement only heightened her fear and anxiety. She was transferred to our rescue in hopes that a quieter, calmer environment could help her begin decompressing and learning how to exist safely around people.

Andi is still very much a work in progress.

She is extremely fearful and skittish, especially in new situations or around unfamiliar people. She has a strong fight-or-flight response and requires experienced handling, careful management, and a patient adopter who fully understands fearful dogs and working-breed behaviors.

But beneath all of that fear is a dog trying very hard to figure out how to trust.

Andi enjoys the simple things — laying in the sun, observing quietly, and existing in peaceful spaces where she feels secure. She has done well with other dogs in the past, though she would need careful introductions and appropriate matches due to her anxiety and energy level.

She is not a fit for homes with children, cats, or small animals due to her prey drive and fearful nature. She also can NEVER be off leash or in unsecured environments because of her instinct to flee when frightened.

Andi is kennel trained and would likely thrive with someone experienced in behavior rehabilitation, decompression work, or working breeds like German Shepherds and Cattle Dogs. She may ultimately benefit from structured outlets or “jobs” that help channel her intelligence and energy appropriately.

Andi is not an easy dog.

But difficult beginnings do not make a dog unworthy of love.

The right person for Andi is someone patient enough to celebrate tiny victories, understanding enough to move at her pace, and experienced enough to help her continue learning that the world does not always have to be scary.

🤎 3–4 years old
🤎 German Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix
🤎 Kennel trained
🤎 Very intelligent
🤎 Extremely fearful/skittish
🤎 Experienced home required
🤎 No children or small animals

Sometimes rescue isn’t about transforming a dog into someone else.

Sometimes it’s about meeting them where they are and giving them the safety they’ve never had before.

No cats/kids/small animals.

Andi is spayed, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, and dewromed. She is microchipped with lifetime registration.

Wonderful news for these three coming up soon, but we have put over 1,000 miles on our car and hundreds of dollars into the gas tank to get them there. Keno is making a BIG trip on Saturday and we dreading going to the pumps again.

Can you help get us there? Our previous post to prepare for these trips raised $0.

ALL ABOARD!

Exciting news and call to action!
We have MULTIPLE meet and greets coming up next weekend but they are ranging from Witchita Falls all the way to the Houston area. Eventually we have a dog we need to even get to Tulsa to his adoptive family. That means a LOT of driving and we all know gas prices have gone up, and up, and up.....

We need YOUR help to fill our gas tank a couple of times over. Friday is a big day for Bronco who is FINALLY meeting someone that wants him to be their new best friend. Saturday Kimmy is getting her shot at a retirement home. Sunday Cosette is meeting a family that has said "bring on the drama" and wants to see if they all get along. These are all dogs that desperately deserve this and have waited so long for their chance.

Please consider donating to help us get these souls to their happily ever afters. Even if all you can do is share us far and wide to help with gas costs, that still helps!
