🚨🐈 RARE SIGHTING ALERT! 🐈🚨

📍 Location: Our Veterinary Clinic

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a very special sighting today! 👀 Introducing Charles .. a highly elusive resident who is almost NEVER seen making an appearance up front. 😂

Much like spotting a rare animal on safari, catching Charles out and about is a once-in-a-blue-moon event! 🦁🌿

Please remain calm, do not make any sudden movements, and consider yourself LUCKY if you happen to spot this mysterious creature in the wild (aka our clinic). 🤣

📸 A rare sighting of Charles has been documented. We repeat: CHARLES HAS BEEN SPOTTED. 🚨

PET STORY OF THE MONTH

🐾 Bella’s Story: A Cute Toy, a Serious Danger! 🐾

Meet Bella! 💗 This sweet girl came to us as a very sick puppy after her owner had received her from someone in a Walmart parking lot about a week earlier. Bella was vomiting and experiencing diarrhea, and we knew something wasn’t right.

Dr. Foster quickly got to work running several diagnostic tests, including a parvo test and f***l testing. When those tests didn’t provide an answer, she took radiographs, which revealed the culprit: an intestinal blockage!

Bella was taken to surgery, where Dr. McIntyre removed a mochi squishy from her small intestine! 😳 Thankfully, Bella is now recovering well at home!

⚠️ A VERY IMPORTANT PET SAFETY REMINDER! ⚠️

SQUISHES are a big trend right now, but these toys can pose a serious danger to our pets. If swallowed, they can become lodged in the gastrointestinal tract and cause an obstruction that may require emergency surgery.

Please keep these toys and other small, chewable items safely out of your pet’s reach. If you suspect your pet has swallowed one, contact your veterinarian promptly. Don’t wait for symptoms to develop!

Bella was one lucky girl! 🍀 We are so thankful our doctors were able to identify the problem and get that squishy out before it caused even more trouble.

And seriously… that face! 🥹💕 I think we can all agree she’s pretty stinkin’ cute!

❤️ Give Bella some love in the comments, and share this post to help other pet owners keep their furry family members safe!

🎉🐾 HAPPY NATIONAL BOSS’S DAY TO OUR FAVORITE TRIO! 🐾🎉

Running a veterinary clinic takes a special kind of crazy… and we’ve got THREE of them! 😂❤️

🐶 Dr. Foster — Our owner, fearless leader, and ultimate dog lover! She keeps the clinic moving, cares for her patients with passion and patience (both dogs AND cats!), and would probably bring home every dog that crossed her path if we let her! 🐕❤️

💉💰 Brent — Our practice manager, anesthesia expert, problem solver, and the man everyone REALLY wants to see on payday! 😂 He keeps the chaos organized, the patients snoozing safely, and the paychecks coming. He makes sure the staff stays laughing and smiling !

🐱🐶 Dr. Mac — Our amazing veterinarian and surgeon who treats both dogs and cats, even if her inner crazy cat lady occasionally takes over! She does our surgeries on Tuesdays and Thursdays as well as see patients! She sure is our cat whisperer.

Together, these three keep our animal-loving, occasionally chaotic, always entertaining clinic running! Between barking dogs, sassy cats, medical mysteries, anesthesia, and payroll, we’re not sure how they do it… but we’re sure glad they do! 🐾🤣

Today, we’re celebrating the people who lead us, support us, teach us, and put up with us every single day. Thank you for everything you do for our team, our patients, and their families. We truly appreciate you! ❤️

Happy Boss’s Day to Dr. Foster, Brent, and Dr. Mac! 🎉

We love you guys… even when you’re being the bosses! 😉😂🐾

🐾 Breathing shouldn’t be a struggle! 🐾

Flat-faced breeds like French Bulldogs, Bulldogs, Pugs, and Boston Terriers are at risk for Brachycephalic Obstructive Airway Syndrome (BOAS).

Watch for noisy breathing, snoring or snorting while awake, excessive panting, tiring easily, exercise intolerance, gagging, regurgitation, or difficulty breathing..especially in heat or humidity.

🚨 Blue or gray gums, collapse, or severe breathing distress are emergencies. Seek immediate veterinary care.

Early evaluation may identify airway problems that could improve with procedures such as nostril widening, soft-palate correction, or removal of obstructive tissue when appropriate. Not every dog needs surgery, so a veterinary assessment is essential.

Does your flat-faced dog snore, tire easily, or struggle in warm weather? Don’t wait for a crisis..
contact Commerce Vet Clinic today to schedule an airway evaluation and discuss personalized options for safer breathing and a better quality of life.

🐾❤️ Just another day at the vet… where puppy cuddles are part of the job! ❤️🐾

This sweet boy Baxter had everyone completely smitten during his visit! 🥰 We’re pretty sure his favorite part of coming to see us was all the extra love and attention.

At our clinic, we believe veterinary care should be about more than just checkups .. it’s about making our patients feel safe, loved, and comfortable every step of the way. 🐶💕

Those puppy-dog eyes sure make our jobs a little easier! 🐾

🌷🐾 STOP! Is That Flower Safe for Your Pet? 🐾🌷

Flowers can brighten up our homes and gardens, but some beautiful blooms can be dangerous to our four-legged family members.
Here are a few common plants pet parents should know about:

🚨 LILIES — ESPECIALLY DANGEROUS FOR CATS True lilies and daylilies can cause severe, potentially fatal kidney failure in cats. Even small exposures — including pollen or water from a vase containing lilies — can be dangerous.

🌷 TULIPS & HYACINTHS These can cause vomiting, diarrhea, and drooling in cats and dogs. The bulbs contain higher concentrations of toxins and can be particularly dangerous.

🌼 DAFFODILS Ingestion can cause vomiting, diarrhea, and drooling. Larger amounts, especially the bulbs, can cause more serious problems.

🌺 AZALEAS & RHODODENDRONS These plants can cause vomiting, weakness, and potentially serious heart and nervous-system effects if enough is eaten.

🌿 SAGO PALMS Sago palms are highly toxic to both dogs and cats. Ingestion can cause severe gastrointestinal problems, liver damage, bleeding problems, seizures, and potentially death.

🌸 OLEANDER This beautiful flowering plant can cause serious heart rhythm problems if ingested.

🐾 WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?
If you think your pet has eaten a potentially toxic plant, don't wait for symptoms to appear. Contact your veterinarian or an animal poison-control service right away.

📞 ASPCA Animal Poison Control: 888-426-4435
🌱 When in doubt, check before you plant or bring flowers into your home!

🐱
This post is for general educational purposes and does not replace veterinary advice. Plant toxicity can vary by species, amount ingested, and the part of the plant consumed.

🐾 Meet Bonnie & Clyde! 🐾

These two little troublemakers have already figured out the most important rule at the vet clinic: if you’re cute.. you get treats. 😂

Bonnie and Clyde were more than happy to cooperate for their exam… as long as the snack department kept up! 🐱❤️

We’re pretty sure they came in for a checkup and left thinking they just visited an all-you-can-eat buffet. 😂
