❤️. Update. So, I really hope that everyone who posted comes through. We are tagging him and will pull him. Setting up a GoFundMe we would have to wait 45 days to get a payout so the fastest way is for us to use our PayPal account. This boy is located at a Texas shelter. He is 3 years young. Loves people, kids and other dogs. But he tested positive for Heartworm. We had a plan to move him north to a foster but honestly, with adoptions and donations as low as they are, we just do not have the financial horsepower to pull him and he is on borrowed time.

If another rescue can help or we get a guardian angel donor or sponsor, we will tag and pull him. He is a rescue ONLY Pull. He cannot be adopted from this facility direct.

How can you resist a long coat with those eyes? PM us if you have ideas.

🎉🎉🎉 Adopted 🎉🎉🎉 😳. I am shocked that we had so many applications for Georgia and Tybee but yet none for this 13 week old Akita/Shepherd Baby. I thought for sure that his furever home was out there. No worries, we have LOTS of Akitas to choose from. But this special boy really needs to find his furever family.

🎉🎉🎉 Adopted 🎉🎉🎉A wonderful angel rescued Moose and reached out to LSAR, Lone Star Akita Rescue/SafeHaven Animal Rescue Team to help save this precious pup and how can we say no. Moose is a handsome Akita mix puppy who needs your help because honestly we are stretched way too thin with adoptions slim to none this year. 😞

Upon arrival to our vet offices this morning via transport, he was examined from the top of his head to his tail. He is overloaded with hookworms, tapeworms, severe yeast infection inflaming his ears , and anemia from flea infestation and I won’t mention a few other intestinal issues. 😞

The bill was approaching $1000 and the Vet was still examining him. On the positive side, he is the sweetest little guy you will ever meet and the staff were swooning over him. 💕

We rarely post asking for help with vet bills but I am coming paw in hand now for Moose’s care.🫂 We are blessed that we have our own Vet Tech at the Texas Ranch as the medical boarding would be way above what we can handle right now.

We need you as much as this little guy needs us. ♥️

🎈Adopted!!!

yet again, here is another reason why we really need your help. Two Akita mix puppies found their way to our ranch when they were very young. I am talking bottle feed young. Though we had the mom she refused to nurse her babies. ❤️ Now at 9 weeks old, one has been adopted but Georgia’s Adoption fell through so if you are looking to add to your family, this beautiful, gentle puppy is ready to head to her forever family.

She has age appropriate vaccines; loves kids; dogs; cats; she is too young to be spayed and will have basic training

🎉🎉 Adopted! 🎉🎉 LSAR, Lone Star Akita Rescue/SafeHaven Animal Rescue Team has not had luck adopting any of our Texas Orphans since last year. It breaks our hearts on two fronts, the adults and seniors who are overlooked for puppies and the akitas who are still waiting for placement at our facility. 😞. So, in an effort to help meet the demands, we are trying a new program and have had our first success. On the LSAR, Lone Star Akita Rescue platform, we will do courtesy posts of Akitas who need to be rehomed for various reasons.

We will still be taking applications and will vet potential adopters for the owners but once approved, we will put you in touch with the owner. We cannot attest as to the behavior of the dogs, only the information we are provided. This will probably hurt the orphans we have from getting adopted but maybe it can help all the Akitas. 💕🐾.

The first success story is Kikyo. We matched an applicant to the owner and she is now with her new family and fur-brother. Thank you Kathy and Dalton for adoping ħer. Thank you Cole and family for trusting us. 💕🐾

3 yr old American akita male not neutered.

Good around kids, other dogs as far as his owners have seen, and our 2 cats.

Potty trained and can do some tricks.

Pulls on the leash. And hates the vet. He has to be sedated to go in for his annual shots.

80-90 lbs, he is a big dog

Need a family who will give him lots of love, attention and can take him on walks. He gets nervous meeting new people but does warm up. He does love walks and stuffed animals.

** Adopted!! ** Not in our Kennels.

Kikyo is a 7 month old Akita Puppy. She is super sweet and literally loves everyone and everything she meets. The family even has a rabbit and she hasn't once tried to attack just wants to play even slept with him. The same goes for kids and others. She does need additional training to stop trying to jump on people to give kisses who she is greeting. ♥️ let’s say it is a work in progress. She loves any toy that crinkles and no matter how many toys she has she really loves empty water bottles 🤣. She is kennel trained and bathroom trained no treats needed and she knows sit and lay down now she will try to trick you. If you tell her sit and she doesn't want to she will fake scratch for 2 secs then stop and look till you ask again and repeat 🤣. She is just a energetic puppy who wants love she will play non stop but she will also calm down a rest when she see that you are tired or stressed. She is an amazing dog and that’s why her family wants her to get a sweet home where she can love and be loved.

Well, our Kennel Team was doing really well taking the pups out for a walk to see the snow until they got to Akira. 😞. She was so excited to see the snow that she let loose and dragged one of our staff down. Everyone is okay. The humans are sore but that ended the walks for rest of the gang.

Akira is 10 months old and still searching for her forever family. Her sister Gemma is also available. Normally, she does walk well on a leash unless she see snow for the first time. 🥰🐾. Akira and her sister Gemma are located at our ranch in Texas but we allow out of state adoptions.
