This is the week to pick up medications to help your animal stay calm for July 4th weekend. 🎆

Tips:

• Create a quiet and comfortable “safe space” for them.
• Drown out the booms with your TV a little louder or tranquil music.
• Offer distraction tools like a treat filled puzzle toy or a frozen treat filled Kong toy.
• Tire them out, take them for an extra long walk. (Keep in mind the current heat)
• Act normally, dogs pick up on their owners emotions! Speak in a soothing, reassuring voice to provide a sense of security.

Sulphur River Veterinary Clinic is seeking a dedicated and skilled small animal/large animal assistant to join our compassionate team. If you have a passion for animal care, strong technical skills and a commitment to providing excellent patient care, we want to hear from you!

Hours:
• M-T-W-T-F
• 8:00am -5:00pm
(Thursdays 8-12)

Requirements:
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Must have minimum 1 year experience in the veterinary field.
• Must be available for emergencies and occasional weekends.
• Punctuality, hustle, and motivated to work.
• MUST be comfortable around horses and large dogs.
• We are searching for FULL TIME availability only.
• MUST be able to lift 50lbs.

Responsibilities:
• Assist our Veterinarian with examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Perform diagnostic tests.
• Administer medications, vaccinations, and IV fluids.
• Monitor anesthesia and assist in surgery.
• Educate pet owners on proper care and treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure a clean, safe environment.
• Cleaning stalls, cleaning kennels, etc.

Pay is based on experience.
