Pop and Tart are two sweet best friends who should never have had to fend for themselves. These domestic rabbits were sadly dumped near a local wildlife rehab, where they were left completely defenseless. Domestic rabbits do not have the skills to survive outdoors.

Thankfully, these clever girls knew they were in danger and trusted the right human. They allowed Patti to easily catch them, and she immediately called HHRR to help. Because of her quick action, Pop and Tart are now safe, warm, and loved indoors—right where they belong. 💗

🐰The True Cost of Caring for Our Rabbits🐰

When a rabbit comes into our care, we are committed to giving them everything they need to live a healthy, happy life—no matter the cost.
Every rabbit receives at least one full health check, which averages about $60. For many buns, that’s just the beginning.

It’s very common for rabbits to need:
•Multiple vet visits
•Medications
•X-rays
•Blood work

These necessary treatments add up quickly and can easily reach several hundred dollars for just one rabbit.

We also ensure every adoptable rabbit is spayed or neutered, which costs approximately $150 per rabbit.

➡️ Even a healthy rabbit often costs us $300 or more before they’re ready for adoption.

➡️ Rabbits with more complex medical needs can require thousands of dollars in care.

We share this not to discourage—but to help everyone understand the level of care each rabbit receives behind the scenes.

This adorable bun has been such a joy—full of personality, charm, and plenty of those irresistible twitchy-nose moments. Now he’s off to a life filled with fresh greens, soft hay piles, comfy hideouts, and lots of love—and we hear he’ll be thoroughly spoiled (as every bunny should be! 🥬✨).

We couldn’t be more excited for this special little guy as he begins his next chapter with a family who already adores him. 💕

🚨 We Need Your Help More Than Ever 🚨

Right now, we are receiving daily surrender requests along with reports of stray rabbits—and we simply cannot keep up. Our space, resources, and foster network are stretched to the limit.

At the same time, adoptions are down and we are seeing a heartbreaking increase in neglect cases. It’s taking a toll, but we continue to show up for the animals who need us most.

Tonight, we welcomed Trixie Mettel. 💔

She was found living in a home filled with filth and around drugs. We knew we couldn’t turn her away—even though we are already at capacity.

Trixie will be seeing our veterinarian, receiving the care she deserves, and will be spayed. Despite everything she’s been through, she is incredibly sweet and loves being pet. She is already showing us just how special she is. 💕
